Is there a problem with patch 1.04 and Exiled Prince content?

I hope that the developers see this because there are various posts concerning problems people have experienced with the Exiled Prince content only after installing patch 1.04. For some reason the cut scenes do not load correctly both in the Harriman estate in Act 2 and then later in Act 3 in Vicount's Keep following the battle with the mages.

In the case of Act 2 you seem to be able to get out of the ....Loading loop by pressing Esc button. However, this does not work in the case of Act 3.   The screen freezes and the only way to get out of this is to quit the game.

I recently started playing on a new (better) computer as my old one had broken. On my previous computer I had patch 1.03 and the Exiled Prince content worked okay. However, you are now forced to take patch 1.04 instead of 1.03. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the content and patch but the problem remains.

Therefore I will either have to uninstall once again, reinstall unpatched and then re-play from the beginning, or reinstall with patch but without Exiled Prince content, or fail to complete the Faith Quest, thus not able to proceed with any character development involving Sebastian.

Please will you look into this as it is very annoying. If anyone else has found a simple solution to this problem I would be grateful to hear it.

Interesting. I've also found that it stalls in the Repentance quest in Act 2. I don't know about Act 3...will have to wait and see.

If you think that you can contact *ANY* member of the Bioware Development team through messages posted on the Social Forums, you are mistaken.  These forums are for the game players.  The employees do not participate here(*).  DA2 is now a year and a half old.  There will be no further patches to it.  Not happening, sorry.

P. S.  The only time actual interaction is ever likely is during the run-up period prior to  game's release, and a very short while thereafter.

Not trying to necro this thread, but I am having the same issues as well. I have Google searched and still could not find an answer as to why it tries to keep loading. I hope someone can create an unoffical patch to fix this.

I'm experiencing the same error with the "Faith" quest. I've tried loading the game without v-sync, with DX9 instead of 11, without hi-res textures, and finally rolling back the nVidia driver. I also completely uninstalled my driver and installed a fresh copy of the latest for my video card (GeForce 560 Ti). I've tried rapidly tapping Esc to see if I can skip the problem, but I still get the "Loading..." message and the game locks up every time.

I PM'd a Bioware employee today, but I don't know if they check PMs about DA2 anymore. Hopefully someone has uncovered a solution, because I'm fresh out of ideas.

Official Support is through EA, and the Email version is far less useful than the Chatline is.

To be blunt, I don't expect to get much from EA beyond a copy-and-paste answer that doesn't actually help. I vaguely remember reading another thread in which someone else contacted EA about this issue, and that's exactly the response they got. If anyone knows how to fix it, it's either Bioware or the gamer community.

There is no oversight from Bioware, and it seems that game forums are now seasonal, with summer being an offseason period.  The gamers just aren't in here in quantity now.
