They are compromising. Perhaps if people payed attention more, this wouldn't be an issue.

Spending four or five months on something and spending millions of dollars to do it sounds like a compromise to me.

And it's free.

You keep saying that, like you've got their damn budget right in front of you.

I've explained exactly what this EC is and why it's taking so long and you've never once responded. I think it is you that needs to pay more attention.

Huh. Apparently, she's going in for multiple sessions. That's a fair amount of dialogue. I'm curious to what it could be about.

Well she either is sticking to protocol and scripted PR speak or completly ignorant to the situation and hasn't a clue as she admits to not playing games anyway. We can but wait untill EC, but on a side note at least now i know what she looks like in person.

Sounds like a little of both - the full quote is this:

"I think people were disappointed, and I think they were looking for more. I think they’re doing more downloadable content. I’ve been in and recorded some dialogue, and I actually have another session on Thursday… The sessions I’ve had so far have been really simple, and Bioware’s not changing the ending, but it’s explaining and justifying it more."

The bolded part is what threw me a bit - she thinks they're doing more DLC? As in after the current DLC that she's voicing for ... ? Or does she not know what she's currently doing the voice acting for?

Well as i read her interview thats the 1 thing that stuck out to me, along with the justify word of course. Well she admits to not playing games but surely she would know whether she's VA on the EC specifically or not. As otherwise it was DLC for the SP that got put on hold due to the EC taking precedant

Well this certainly jives with what Lance Henriksen said when he was interviewed. It just feels like this is how the situation was explained to the VAs when they came back in to record. They only read their own lines so Kimberly would only know what she says; Lance with what he says, etc. I don't they can defer their own conclusions based just on the lines they read.

Again, just feels like what someone told them was the case when they came back in to record more lines and they're just repeating it.

It's just a basic math estimate. Fifty people working on the EC at an average salary of $60,000 a year for four months of work is a million dollars.

Three months of develpment for LotSB cost millions of dollars, Casey Hudson stated as much. This has cinematics and more voice actors AND has a longer development cycle.

It's pretty easy to make an estimate.

No. 50 people earning $60,000 is $3,000,000. Four months of work is a third of that, or $1,000,000.

You're going to have to compromise, like all adults.

Says the guy that got all immature and accused talimancers of making the weird al video replacing miranda. Seriously dude, you're the true definition of eternal optimist. How many more times are you going to sit back and let Bioware spit in your face and insult your intelligence?

"Hey, you were all too stupid to get our ending, so let us explain it for you, you retards" - Bioware.

If the above quote on what they basically said doesn't insult your intelligence there is no hope for you.

No one needs the ****ty ending explained, clarified or expanded on. You can't cover **** with more **** and expect all of us to suddenly like it. And yes, there are millions of people who hate the ending to this game, just because you don't see them posting here doesn't mean they don't exist.

I said it made me upset. It was in jest. YOU have assigned that meaning to my posts. If you hadn't figured that out by the time I made the OP you have an issue.

I don't like it either, but it cannot possibly get worse.

I work for producers. Bioware has been MORE than gracious to me.

Its so hard to convey humor and when you're attempting to poke fun at someone for blaming talimancers for something we didn't do.

It can get worse, things get worse all the time. I'm a pessimistic bastard, you'll have to forgive me if I don't share in your joy, with getting table scraps from a company I no longer respect. I even blew money on their ****ty mp and to have my intelligence insulted, that right there is the ultimate slap in the face.

I'm just curious Taboo, but did someone at Bioware, or EA, or a PR firm for them, ask you to come to the forums and try and help calm things down?  I'm not saying this is a bad thing even if they did, I'm just curious.

As for the EC, yeah, they have never said it was going to be anything but 'clarification', so this is no surprise.  But no matter how many times Bioware says the same thing, there are still going to be people who will explode when they see the EC.  Keep in mind that there are still a fair number of IT people out there, and they are not going to be persuaded by consistent messaging from Bioware.

Please do show me where I have ever stated that someone elses opinion doesn't matter. My exact words have always been when are you guys going to get tired of bioware spitting in your faces and insulting your intelligence. No where have I said you have to agree with my opinion or the millions of others that hate the game.

I am not talking down to you or anyone else in a condescending tone either, as I am asking legitimate questions. So again, if you don't mind please point out where I have ever insulted anothers opinion and demanded that it be more like mine. You can't because it doesn't exist.

QED. It isn't your opinion that offends me, it is your manner. You are stating a person's opinion is incorrect because you imply they're too blind, stupid or otherwise to see what you see. In other words, you demean the person, or condescend to them.

As I before stated, you're wholly entitled to your opinion, and it's great that you feel passionate enough about this game to voice it. But to insult others because they don't agree is wrong.

I didn't blame Talimancers for the video. I just said I'd get them back for giving me **** and I did. It's a joke, nothing more. You DIDN'T see the exchanges in the thread?

It cannot get worse. I've never seen anything this bad, ever. Nothing can make it worse.

60,000 divided by 12= 5,000. 5,000 times 3 months=15,000. 15,000 times 50 people=750,000.

hmm I wonder if the MP sales have supported this?

EC will probably go like this:

Shepard: "I'm going to use my radio to call my love interest for a tearful farewell before obeying the Catalyst!"

<insert LI dialogue here>

Shepard: "Joker, I'm ordering you to run away for no reason."

Joker: "I should really argue against this but I'm not going to. Bye!"

Hackett: "What about the rest of us?"

Shepard: "Don't really care, I'm stranding you anyway."

Hackett: "What was that?"

Shepard: "I said it's been an honour, sir! Now to pick a colour."

Best case scenario, I get payed eight hundred dollars a day for working on a film set. And I can sit on my ass for weeks.

You have to pay people to do work. They are not making a return investment for this work.

Making back a loss is considered a loss. Multiplayer may make the money back, but it will never give it a mass surplus.

And no, I wasn't asked to be here by Bioware.

And that is correct how?
I don't know how many people are working on it but it is probably 50+ including all the people that do the voice work, writers, testers and programmers and what not.
Personally I see the actual workers at bioware as irrelevant but that depends on how they get paid by EA or whatever.

The only relevant cost I see is the stuff that is coming in externally and the production cost, not the actual wages.
So yeah.

Bioware has eight hundred employees across several studios.

The Edmonton studio is working on the EC.

I'd imagine that quite a few people are working on it.

It's just a very rough estimate to reinforce that things like this cost money. Relax.

As far as I know, the only things coming in externally are voice actors. And what do you think production cost primarily is? Wages.

All the time. The difference here is that someone else is taking the flak for Hudson and Walters. Any communication at all is a good thing. Vaugue or not.
