I would save it from itself by removing it and pretending it never happened.

Shepard (who survived since I picked destroy) find the planet where the Normandy crashed. He then reunites with Tali (his love interest), punches Joker for running away, brofists Garrus, then they return to Earth. Oh, and he punches Joker for running away, I mentioned that part, right?

Have Shepard contact the Normandy, demand Joker grabs my surviving team mate, and take them kicking and screaming (you know they would, especially funking Liara).

That's about it. If not, then use that fan made video of every shooting Joker for being a coward.

So just character assasinate Shep rather than Joker.

Shepard knows this is a one way trip, but it doesn't have to be for their crew. How was s/he (and we) supposed to know the Mass Relays would blow up too?

That's ridiculous. I hate their attempts to define Shep but if they force my Shep to be a selfish idiot telling his crew to turn tail and run while others are fighting and dying for the cause i'll bewell past irate.

Everyone is a selfish idiot in the end. Shepard is just a pawn in the war. Hackett is busy yelling orders the entire time and does nothing but move pieces.
So what if it's selfish to get your friends out of a warzone while you go to certain death? As far as Shep is concerned, this is the end of the war.

...Sorry, I'm getting my own values mixed in to what I think my Shepard would do.

Hackett is in charge of the fleet above earth involved in a huge dogfight which the Normandy should be part of if Joker hadn't been struck by utter cowardice apparently. As the  person who convinced a huge amount of people to come to an all out fight at earth it is completely out of order for shep to tell his ship to flee just in case they might get a scratch whilst millions  are dying fighting the reapers.

I would remove it completely. The only place my squad should be is on Earth, at Shepard's funeral (unless you picked Destroy and had High EMS). There's no evidence that any other ship ran from Earth other than the Normandy and that makes no god damn sense.

Does Hackett actually do anything though? Most of those damn forces were Shepard and their charisma, not some old dude in a funky hat.

At this point in the game, it isn't out of the way for Shepard to tell them to bug out. They've lost a lot of blood, and in a few minutes, they're going to believe what the Reaper leader says no questions asked.

It came out of absolutely nowhere, had no explanation, no purpose, and can not be made sense of by the human brain. I've never heard anyone even come close to a reasonable theory, no matter how badly I wanted one.

By removing it altogether. There is no sense to be made from that scene at all. I would really like to have the one who came up with the scene explain the reasoning behind why they thought it might make sense. At the very least it would be hillarious.

Well i'd assume he's on the sword flagship and there's a pretty huge furball going on out there.
I'd say it is completely out of character for my shep. and completely treasonise given the circumstances.
I suppose you can characterise it as something your Shep would do as long as mine isn't forced to issue that selfish command.

I thought the Normandy was the flagship, and Hackett was on the ship that was putting the Crucible on the Citadel.

Unfortunately, forced issues are with us at this point (and the whole hour+ before it), and I just came up with something that would make Joker seem like less of a gorram coward to sort of salvage the scene (next to all the other people saying it should be scrapped, which it should be).

 Hmm just the Normandy scene?

Okay, before fleeing:

the Normandy docking on the Citadel, Shepard's party members dragging Shep on board before the Citadel falls apart (homage to ME2)

After the Crash Shepard reporting to Hackett on the QEC device, EDI reading off coordinates so a team can be sent via standard FTL to bring them back to Earth.

This is how I would explain it, at least for my ending which is Red- show the Normandy picking up the crew on Earth then they will fly towards the Crucible to try and back up Shep. However Shepard finishes his convo with the Catalyst/**** first and yells for the fleets to get clear. We see the fleets go through the mass relays back to their home bases. Joker refuses to flee and tries to pick up Shepard but the thing blows forcing him to outrace the explosion.

The alliance is going to find the Normandy.

Then track the crew to a cave where they find Liara gnawing on a bone that formerly belonged to James Vega.

I'd arrange a detail of six fans and take it out behind the chemical shed and shoot it.

I'd scrap it.

Either the Normandy is flat out destroyed by Harbinger with low EMS or they manage to take out Harbinger with the help of a dreadnaught.

Extending it. Make it last to the point where everyone is rescued, thus invalidating the scene in the first place.

Or more simply, get rid of it. Because it's bad.

Real bad.
