i want to play as a range kind of character and im sorta thinking of
Archer or Mage mainly archer cause i always enjoyed them in any kind of
RPG game here is my party planned out
Female Noble Rogue Archer - myself
Leliana - Archer
Alistair Or Dog - tank
Zevran - two swords or daggers
the
partys i've picked are just mainly my favorite characters through out
the game but how well will this party do against enemies? im playing on
Hard by the way i will also restart just to switch to Two Handed Warrior
if i must i don't mind why a two handed warrior cause that was my third choice just didn't list it
Archer Or Mage

Are you going to handle the Rouge duties i.e. traps and locks?
If not, then either go with a Warrior Archer or Mage.
Warrior Archer is a fun option if you import the character into Awakening and the later DLCs. You can do some massive damage.
Mages are always fun because of versatility. You can be a pure damager, a healer, or any combination in between.
A lot of people on here love the Mage because of the Arcane Warrior spec allowing you to be both ranged and melee and remove the need for a tank opening up another team spot.
You can run a team of AW Mage, Morrigan, Wynne, and Lelianna/Zevran giving you lots of options. Set yourself up as a debilitator (hexes, sleep, paralyze, etc) and a SNS AW, Wynne as a healer, Morrigan as a damager, and then Leli or Zev can work as either ranged support or backstabbing assassin.

You can just do fine with a rogue or warrior archer in Origins. However, archery is the least powerful fighting style.
They clearly knew this and tried to compensate In Awakening by introducing the skill Accuracy. This turns everything around and makes archers extremely overpowered.
Mages on the other hand have ridiculously high damage output against groups of enemies (which means 99% of the game's fights). On those few remaining crucial boss fights though, I find mages somewhat lacking compared to a good rogue or warrior.

mages end up being more powerful but an archer could be fun. But range characters are weaklings anyway:p Give me a dwarf with a big axe anyday.

What do you mean end up? They also start strong compared to other characters. At least if you don't skimp on the Magic.
