My FemShep is dead (and I'm not talking about the ending)

She looks like a piece of plastic, has cold empty eyes, moves like a f... elastic ninja - come to think of it, this game looks like a ME add-on for "The Sims"!
So I played around with the Lazarus Project & Gibbed save editor, and it's a bit less worse, but not so much...
The only bearable cutscenes are those with Kaidan when she's got her helmet on, at least I get to hear Jennifer Hale's voice again undistracted...
Don't know if i'll be motivated enough to play the game, I only played 1 hour or so so far, found it ugly in many unexpected ways (ugly intro, ugly animations, ugly gameplay, ugly interface, ugly foes).
Everything i had grown to cherish from ME1 seems to be gone - where did ME's soul go??

Wow, you are quite the optimist.
Ahah, no, just sad and very very disappointed (plus it was 2 in the morning and I was drunk).
I'll probably play though, after all I did buy the game, might as well make up for the money I spent.
I was just wondering if I was the only one feeling that way. I couldn't find a better category to open such a topic

Well, there’s the Face Import social group, and the thread on PC support.
But, yeah, the face import bug is unacceptable.

Sorry about that. Oddly enough, my FemShep got twice as gorgeous.

The real bug was in ME2 where the ME1 import didn't "translate" properly, but it has been fixed.
The problem in ME3 is that face codes from ME2 even if properly interpreted don't correspond at all with the values in ME2. So even if it's technically bugless, it's still horrible.
My story is typical :
> played ME1
> imported in ME2 but save files had wrong default face code attached,
> had to extract it manually (pain in th a...)
> imported face code in ME3
> stared in horror
> used "Lazarus Project" (life saver) to get the bones right, at least the structure is good and FemShep got her mouth back,
> used Gibbed Save editor to get some colours and eyeliner right...
Even now, because the dynamics for the animations are different, the lightning, etc. this animated doll is nothing like the character I had created and was so passionate about. She was gorgeous, but main thing is, she looked real. The expressions were right, her body looked right (before her boob job), and... WHERE DID THE VISUAL NOISE GO??? I absolutely loved the scenes in ME1 Normandy, the atmosphere was dim, hushed... I remember the first time talking to Dr. Chakwas, I was in awe because of how realistic it felt!
I read somewhere that they told Raphael Sbarge to inspire from 24, well, it was exactly how it felt like.

ME2 had still some of that spirit, and I was so happy when I discovered My Shep's face after the absolutely awesomesque intro, back from the dead, she had been sensibly updated, but still looked true to herself.
By the time I discovered you were able to buy a space hamster in-game... well, I had the feeling this was the beginning of the end for the franchise. That and Kelly Chambers.
It only got worse in ME3, when did this game become eye candy dispenser for virgin male teenagers (which I am not obvisouly)?? I mean, would you look at the size of the female robot thing's boobs??? Maybe if there's some sort of missile launcher hiden inside I can understand... Even FemShep in her sleazy ugly cheap latex dress has her ****** pointing out through it... And I'm not even talking about Diane Allers, which I will airlock ASAP.
... I've played about 6 or 7 hours now, I still hate the game, I don't give a damn about what happens, just skipping dialogues as much as I can...
So much for glory!

If you're only problem is looks than you should be just fine for the whole of ME3.
For me, the fact that my real Shepard's face is gone forever was just the first problem. Then there were the huge number of auto dialogue conversations, the terrible way certain ME2 characters were treated, the mere presence of Diana Allers in the game at all, having to spend even a minute looking at EDI's sextoy body, having to watch Joker's character completely murdered and reduced to being a drooling moronic pervert, the knowledge that I can never get the "good" ending unless I play MP or some boring cellphone game, and, of course, the way the ending plays out.
Yeah, I *wish* my Shepard's appearance was the only problem I had with this game. >__<

What do you mean? You mean the game looks good to you right? I don't agree, but I guess it's subjective.
ME1 had a very lifelike realistic artistic direction, while ME3 looks cartoonish. I feel like I'm in Shrek or the Sims Sci-Fi. Now I don't have anything against cartoonish esthetics, but the original artistic choices were what made the game quite litterally wonderful in my eyes. That and astonishing cutscene direction, character creation, legendary voice acting, etc. The gameplay in itself was very far from perfect, but I couldn't care less, ME1 was UNIQUE, an undentified gaming object of its own like I had never encountered before (and I'm 36 now).
Some things bothered me in ME2, but on the overall, it was satisfactory. I had high hopes for ME3, but, it just feels like the developers turned their back on what the original spirit was, to make it more mainstream and satisfactory for a more classic gaming audience I guess... When I play ME3, it feels like Crysis, and boy is Crysis much better.
What are the statistics for gaming consumers I wonder, all I can say is that I am an adult woman, who's got a long gaming history and I've got money I would be happy to give any game studio if someone out there had the vision or gutts (don't know what's lacking here) to create mature modern entertainement.
I was on the verge of buying an N7 t-shirt too. But i can't see it happening now.

Yep this. The character defining auto-dialogue Shep spouted that my Shep would never ever say in a month of sundays really got me so angry i forgot about all the other flaws till i encountered the trainwreck ending.

Alright, i'll take your word on that, but it seems too big a bug...
When i say it's not a bug, i mean it's well worse :
> a. They didn't think the feature was important (whereas it was critical) so neglected it
> b. Or the feature was part of the project but nobody thought it adequate to test it or it was too budget consuming...
Either way, it's really a shame and really poor judgement, someone hasn't been doing his job properly if you ask me - and i'm not talking about the programmers.
Plus I don't want this topic to be lockdown, cause I f had found some very interesting thread about face imports somewhere else and they closed it because users "insisted on calling it a bug"...

Don't worry the amount of autodialogue in this game, you won't see much besides the back of Shepards head.
Ahah, yes, the problem is I also hate the way she moves, she walks like the alien from Mars Attacks.

Can't argue with either of you. I've one complete playthrough and that's because I am a stubborn b*tch.
