Unfortunately it'd take an entire clip to kill yourself with it, and you'd only be able to hit yourself on that first shot.

Keep in mind not everyone has a Talon or Scorpion. They are ultra-rare. Some people, especially people that dont post on the forums, will have an Eagle and not either of those. For them, the Eagle will be worth considering.

Sorry but I like my secondary DPS weapons to either be automatic, or do high damage per shot. I would never use the Phalanx over the Eagle. 

As I said in an earlier post in this thread, if you're relying on your sidearm to do a significant portion of your damage, you're doing it wrong.

Eagle IV. It's not terribad anymore, just average. Still, if I hadn't just gotten a Hurricane II in my Victory Pack I would have been ... upset.

It doesnt take out an atlas with one clip. so it needs a buff.

I'd be willing to bet $20 that without powers or any other source of damage, an eagle couldn't take an Atlas from full armor/shields to death using all of the ammo you can carry for it.

The math has been done, it isn't a matter of trying it or getting a feel for it. It's numbers are simply lacking compared to nearly every other alternative even after the buff.

If you enjoy using the gun then by all means continue to use it, but it's fun factor doesn't change the numbers it produces and some people derive their enjoyment from using the most effective builds and equipment possible. 

No gun in the game does zero damage, therefore all guns in the game can be used. That does not mean that some of those weapons do not need significant improvements or that all the guns are well designed. ME3s weapon design as a whole is actually quite poor, with many weapons simply being linear upgrades over others. Ideally all weapons of the same type should be side grades to eachother with positives and negitives, but instead many are simply straight up better.
