Back from my exam, and as expected people tell me to focus on what the OP "meant", not what she really said.

@Mind Chimera, you are right about I should have used "mistake" instead of "lie". Maybe she didn't say that knowing it was not true. I have no problem to acknowledge (hope it is well written) if I'm wrong, and that was the case. But, altough I know that as a general rule, putting 3 o 4 words in a text of 100 words in CAPITAL LETTERS may sound offensive, it's not less true that it also means something I want to highlight (well, maybe I should use bold next time, but if you re-read my message you will notice I wanted to highlight those particular words).

But I'd also like to point out what I meant from the beginning: you should not start a thread or debate with wrong information, and implying a nerf made Silver change completely. They nerfed 7.5% the damage from passive (that you may not have taken) and some meters the vision. That isnt "game breaking" as the OP said ("you killed my GE" or something like that). That is what OP said on the first post, and that was many people like me will read first thing (and maybe only) before posting.

So many people, when they know they have really no case, just exagerate (4-5 enemies... but now there were 2 and 2 respawned after them... like always). And, personally, I think that is not good for talking about an issue (and being "rude", altough I think I am more like "mean" would be something like that as well, so I will try to avoid that in the future, but btw what I do or try to is pointing out things I thing are falacies, mistakes or lies, and maybe I don't have much touch with that... but I don't mean to "hurt" anyone feelings, but make them face the facts. And I know many people will prefer to feel "hurt" than to face they are mistaken... and sorry, I cannot endorse that). And the facts in this case are not what the OP pointed out: she could have complained about latest buffs, increased health, numbers of enemies... but she didn't. She focused on HM nerf and (wrong IMHO) consequences on Silver of it.

And also like to point out how you all see what I did wrong, but won't see that OP also put "words on my mouth" that I have never said, calling me "elitist" and that I don't want people that "sucks" playing. A minor detail, but if you people like to complain about user's behaviour, you should not forget about what people that think alike say as well (and yes, that is another thing I hate about many people, not particulary OP: people do not discuss data, but call names, and that should not be allowed in any way).

Have everyone a nice day.

you just need to adapt (different character, different weapons, etc). Sorry, but there's not much else to say but that.

They changed silver spawns? News to me. It's not in the list of official changes in any case.

I have no idea, but dozens of pyros/hunters/rocket troopers and 4-5 Primes at the same time seems a bit excessive and more than I experienced prior to this afternoon and evening.

Sounds more like a gold match with the number of primes your talking about.

That's atleast the number in the objective wave. My sollution is usualy to rack them up and rocket them to kingdom come.

Geth are the hardest faction op, the recent nerfs did not affect the difficulty.

As someone who has never really enjoyed MP gaming very much (I've played some Call of Duty, Halo, Battlefield) but absolutely adores ME3 MP, I beg you, please, PLEASE, stop changing stuff that keeps making the game harder. I don't have anything to prove or vast amounts of testosterone that urge me to conquer everything, I just want to play the damn game and have fun. That isn't an unreasonable request, is it?

I've played tons of Bronze games and finally found a perfect class that I could do very well with on Silver difficulty. Today, the changes you made caused my Geth Engineer, Legacy, to die. Again and again and again on wave 10 of Silver. Any enemy looks at him wrong and he dies! :crying: Why does wave 10 on silver suddenly look like Geth on Gold with the number of enemy spawns??

By all means, add a Platinum difficulty if that's what top-tier players want, but for the love of all that is holy, just leave us crappy players enough tools to get by comfortably on Silver.

Thank you very much for your consideration.

Love, <3
Your hopelessly devoted fan.

Nothing has changed to silver, nor any of the difficulties in terms of spawns or enemies. Spawns on objective waves, especially wave 10 are much higher, they keep on going until objectives are completed. So focus on objectives, then wipe out everything. It is usually a better strategy to distract enemies, but not eradicate them. If your team on silver used a bad positioning or strategy, getting overrun is very viable.

On a side note, survivability for the GE has not changed, the changes are negligible, barely noticable if at all. I hope you find a better team next time, and understand your frustration, but if you had success on silver before, you should also have it now.

I did notice this as well, and was wondering if I was the only one. Silver games DO seem significantly more difficult than they once were. Whether it's true or not, I have gotten this impression from playing. It certainly seems like there are more enemy spawns.

Nice to see the BSN being as supportive as ever

I've actually been finding the geth increasingly annoying myself lately so I feel your pain OP

Have you tried using the Asari Adept? I find making things explode usually makes me feel better !

I second that.  Don't find too many belligerents on PC, at least not many that use a mic.  If you were on PC, I'd happily add you on my FL and try to help you get better.  But you have the XBox community to deal with, and I can't help you over there.  Now, if this game was cross-platform that would be a different story.

Actually, the community on the 360 is the most civil and team orientated I have seen for any online game on the system.  As always, there are exceptions - But I don't think the experience is that different from one system to the next.

What are your thoughts on the Turian Sentinel? I have a wonky internet at times and he's the only character other than infiltrators that I trust completely on gold. If you use a respec card to get that point back from tech armor, you can have piercing warp, chain overload, the weapon stability bonus, and max health. He can't distract enemies but he is a tank, so there is that.

Look, for the last time... you are better protected WITH Tech Armor. Using a respec card to take the point from Tech Armor and run a 0/6/6/6/6 Sentinel ANYTHING is about the dumbest thing you can do.

1) You lose power damage.
2) You lose about 30% durability

Those two things make not investing in Tech Armor a really, really dumb move.

I'm trying. Where's the compassion and kindness in this community? Not everyone can be super amazing at MP, ya know. :crying: I have gotten to the point of topping the scoreboard on most of my silver matches, so that's an improvement over bottom score on bronze. I don't want it to be stressfully difficult to play, just pleasantly challenging. Today, it certainly wasn't enjoyable.

I'm sorry for some of the answers kids can be harsh sometimes... i'm a casual player as well and even if I top silver I still suks at gold...
I understand your frustration, I usually find which is the best player in the match and tag team with him if I'm in truoble...

Keep playing, cover a bit more than usual... I love the GE and I keep trying in gold as well...

Most important have fun!

Let's see...the HM nerf lowers the GE's situational awareness, and makes it more difficult to dispatch threats once they "are" identified...

How does that NOT lessen the GE's survivability?

The change may or may not be trivial, but it IS a change--to the GE's detriment (unless HM wasn't part of your build to begin with of course).

How can people fail to see that?

Yes, I agree. I do use capitals to highlight too, but it just struck me that since you were capitalizing "lie" it sounded more aggressive, so I figured I'd mention it. Feel free to use capitals as you wish. Bold is a good option as well in my opinion. Italics are my favorite, since it's emphasis without being too strong.

I'll give you that. It certainly helps to have all of the facts, and she may have focused on the wrong details here.

Pointing out fallacies isn't bad, so feel free to keep doing it. You definitely have good points and you're more than welcome to share your opinion.

When it comes down to it, it's hard to tell what someone's attitude is behind the text, so eventually someone's feelings may get stepped on. Apologies have been served and no harm was done. =]

Oh that smilie reminds me, smilies are a good way to cheer up the tone of your post. If I feel like something I say can be taken negatively, I try to add some humor or smilies to lighten up the post.

I hadn't addressed that since I saw it as a direct response to your perceived attitude, but I suppose you're right and that isn't really fair of me to take sides. She shouldn't have called you an elitist, and I apolgize.

I play Silver when I reach Level 20 with a promoted character. I have found Silver much harder than it was before all the Operation Weekend promotions started. Of course, that's my personal observation. Hang in there! Play less matches if you get stressed out! I've been there, done that! Try to end a gaming session with a good win!

Bekkael is correct, silver has gotten harder and the GI got more of a nerf than stated in the ballance thread. My team warms up in silver before starting our gold runs and silver has changed at least on XB

GE is also my most used class (PC) and it does got affected with the update. i used to breeze in Silver runs and can be at two places at the same time with the flame thrower drone. Now, I needed the shield recharge almost every time if I wanna ambush groups (more than 3) with my good ol chain attack - and Geth Plasma SMG set at non-stop.

One tip that help is to anticipate when the wave will appear based on the map and the other players are. I can almost time it to perfection on the two new maps. Put your drone out just as the wave started, move to behind or flank the enemies and rain them with chain and SMG !

Absolutely love HM (tactical play vs brute force).

Switch to GI with Krysae to test - suddenly, the feeling of invisibility returns ;)

After playing quite a lot of silver and bronze games yesterday (and a couple of Gold, for comparison), it seems the middling difficulty is noticably tougher than it was a week ago. Last week, I could carry weaker players through some rounds when they all died, but this week not so much.

I played a number of different classes and races too, so it's not only the Geth characters that feel weaker, just everything overall feels more challenging.

It's funny they call them weekly balance changes, when all they seem to do is unbalance my gameplay. :P

At any rate, I'm very appreciative of all the great suggestions and helpful advice I've received in this thread, and I will try to put as much of it into practice as I can.

*hugs the community*

OP, I don't doubt what you've been seeing. Some things in the game are getting changed without explicitly being mentioned...the Banshee's behavior over the past few weeks is VERY different, teleporting across much larger gaps than she ever did before, and much more random instakills (she'll now do it whether or not she has her shimmery aura).

Silver definitely DOES seem harder, in spite of not being listed as an official balance change.  Not sure why this is really, but I have seen exactly what you are describing.

Also, I thought Bronze had gotten a lot harder too, until I paused and saw I was dropped into a Gold game after searching Bronze. :P
