Thank you for listening to feedback.
For once I can say a Bioware employee has been able to connect with the fans instead of either

a. yelling at us
b. not responding to whats being said

this guy has gone above and beyond, and frankly, he's the only reason I have any hope left that BioWare cares about the future of DA. Generally when a staff member comes they just give us reasons why we are wrong. Allan is trying to actually hear us out.

So thanks for doing such a good job. :wizard:
And its always nice to see more then half of the first page threads with BioWare posts in them.

Yes. Thank you Allan. Also thanks to John. It's so refreshing to actually see game company employees talking to their fans and listening to what they have to say.

And now we're going to insult *every other* BioWare employee who chooses to come to these forums and interact with us.

Stay classy, BSN.

Also, just to point out since someone did make a comment that I often answer questions with questions.

This is mostly because I as a gamer have particular interests so it's easy for me to align those interests and understand people who share similar perspectives. For other people that have different perspectives, sometimes I need to poke and prod to better understand the perspective that they are coming from.

It might seem like I'm picking on you or that I seem closed off to a particular idea, but that's not the idea I mean to convey at all!

In general though it's been fun to chat with the community, so thanks to you all as well.

Cheers.

Allan

100% agree. Allan, you are the man.

You are never condscending or smugly dismissive like a few others with 'BIOWARE' beneath their name are, and you don't give off the vibe that fans should jump for joy when getting a second of your time.

Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah are also class acts, but it's so rare when they post, and at the frequency Allan posts it's amazing he hasn't turned into a badly written snarky Hawke that some other moderators have turned into; especially when some posters deserve nothing less. Thanks again for your down-to-earth attitude and willingness to engage positively with (all) the fans.

I think Allan is doing a great job as well. It is always fun to hear both sides of the story. It can prevent us going into a direction that doesn't match reality. Or, of course, emphasize what we thought all along. :P

I would also like to point out that there are more BW employees here that do a great job. They often can't handle the sheer negativity that's often coming towards them or their company. So I think it is no surprise that those devs escape to the one line social networks like twitter.

Still there are some great others left too, like Mr Epler (DA) and Mr Holmes (ME), who have fun contributions once in a while. ;)

John Elper should get some love to. I don't think I've ever seen him be terribly insulting to anyone.

Kind of a backhanded compliment, OP.

Still, I'd like to express my enthusiasm for Allan Schumacher's surprisingly frequent references to Ultima VII. With this.

Did you just choose the <3? I hope so. Less Laidlaw on BSN has led to a dearth of flirty, dev dialogue. ;)

Don't worry. I'm cool with you changing my Avatar's sexual orientation. (If you haven't been reading that "all bi" thread, that's going to make no sense.)

Allan has managed to breeze among the contention, apparently without really getting ruffled (or maybe I wasn't paying enough attention). I have to admit it's pretty neat.

John still wins in the end because he would have had a witty response and then locked the thread for being off-topic. That's how you own the forum, instead of just participating in it.

I say we crown Allan baron of the Dragon Age II Game Owner General Discussion Forum.

I'd watch out for John though, Broseidon is a vengeful god.

Allan sure is awesome, definitely =) His presence is very much appreciated ^^

I don't quite believe in belittling other people to make him look great though. Allan is awesome for being Allan, no need to say he is better than X or Y - he is simply great cause... he's Allan. You need more of a reason!? ;D

Allan's a pretty cool guy, props to him. If more guys like him were active back when I was still posting tl;drs, I'd probably still be posting about hypothetical character systems and mechanics. Probably good for everyone that I don't do that anymore, though.

I wouldn't mind folks like Allan being given a more active role in BioWare's PR for future Dragon Age games and it might help to combat many of BioWare's current negative perceptions.
