Well, I don't know that it would be much of an improvement. I like the notion of a twist but my whole problem with the ending was the catalyst itself and the stupid three choices. The fact that it could be a squadmate would be just another layer of confusion on top of the mess that already exists, imho.

Sorry, but no. That would be one of the most random, nonsensical 'twists' ever.

I know everyone hates the Starbrat, and I mostly do too, but I'd prefer him over that plot twist any day.

I would rather have a good ending. Not your 'idea'. Not what we got.

It's a ... interesting idea, but IMO doesn't really fit into Mass Effect. Above all , Mass Effect is an epic space opera, and should have ended similar to Star Wars, with Shepard succeeding against all odds and defeating the Reapers on his/her terms (or at least have the option to if you play well).
