I successfully downloaded it, however, it won't start because it says I need a video card or something? Does anyone know what that is and how do I obtain it? Sorry if this is a silly qestion but Im just not really quite the computer whiz lol.

Thanks!

A video card is in your computer and is used to display images on it. It sounds like your's isn't powerful enough to run the DA Character Creator.

Nope. You're going to have to buy a new vid card most likely, unless you already have one that is compatible/fast enough. In that case it may be a driver/game bug.

If the popup says, "Failed to detect a supported video card" does that mean I just don't have one or could that just be a bug, you think? I appreciate all the help I can get :)

It is likely you need a new video card, however, at least give this a try if you really want to fiddle with the character creator:

If you have Windows XP (don't know how to get to it in Vista/7), you can go to Start > Run and type dxdiag. It'll open up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. On the Display tab, it should tell you what your video card is under the Device section. Copy the name of the card and do a Google/Yahoo/Bing/etc search on drivers for that card.

If there's updates for it, download them and restart your system. See if the character creator will work then. If not, your card just doesn't support the creator, but at least you'll know you did all you could without buying new parts. :)

If it happens to be a Nvidia or an  Ati card, there sites usually have the latest drivers.

And chances are pretty high that it's one of those. Their sites can be found here and here.

Actually, if it's not designed as a gaming PC, chances are pretty high it has an Intel onboard graphics chipset, which won't run most modern 3D games. I'm always seeing folks on game forums complaining that the computer they bought yesterday won't run Game X... they assumed that since it was new it would run new games, but in fact computers that aren't specifically designed for gaming STILL can't run 3D games.

This seems to be happening to users whose PCs meet the system requirements of DA so it could possibly be more then that
