In other games its more traditional for tanks to do Constitution or its equivelant in that game
So I think its for warriors under the idea that STR/CON is the way to go so that they can still do decent ranged damage?

The damage difference isn't even remotely comparable, either. Like you said, by the time you have enough strength to use a mid-high tier crossbow, the damage you're doing with a longbow is far greater -because- of your strength. So... what's the point? No idea. Looks, maybe.

They don't assume everyone would have figured out DEX is good for tanks?

You're not making sense. I said even a warrior with no dex does more damage with long bows. A simple calculation in your head would tell you as much since long/short bows still get 50% damage bonus from str while crossbows get nothing.

Crossbow are supposed to be 100% Dex, with Str requirements.
I've also read that somewhere on this forums, but is that a confirmed bug? Or just someone's idea, which became "fact" after a lot of relays?

I love the crossbows especially the antique one. Although I have to admit its kinda weak on a warrior but on a rogue, its devastating.
How does that work? Crossbows have no atrribute modifier; how is it different putting it on a rogue or on a warrior?

They were designed for use within a few feet of a knight to punch through his armor.
I haven't checked, does a crossbow have higher armor penetration than a bow in the game?

Yes crossbows generally have high AP. But even on heavily armored foes, the AP difference still doesn't come close to offset the raw damage difference. This is comparing the tier 7 warden crossbow with low tier normal longbows.

A Rogue would have to ruin their build to even equip a crossbow
Not true, a sword rogue wearing the Warden's Keep DLC armor (26 STR Req) can still backstab and tear this game apart. Rogues can be STR or DEX based, either one works.

Well I just noticed and tested it with Sten, he hits a genlock alpha with six bolts but my rogue shoots only three and its dead.

That page also lists DEX as crossbow's base prereq, which we all know is actually STR. Unless that's also a bug...
