Naaah, it's perfectly fine.
It's not like they have women prancing around a battlefield in catsuits and heels with their hair in their face and make-up... Or using a belt as a bra in one game then having visible nipples in the next... Or having cameltoe despite being a robot... Or having numerous cleavage and ass shots everytime they engage you in conversation.
Seriously though, it made me sad reading the art book that came with the ME3 N7 edition and almost every time a female character got mentioned the first thing was "They needed to be sexy with lots of sexy sex appeal.".
Maybe that's the real reason they replaced it with nipple city ME3.
Seriously though, Jack is my favourite character apart from Kaidan, but the default outfit in ME2 and her outfit in ME3 are ridiculous (the former being marginally worse than the latter)... Even if they did want to show off her tattoos and distinct personality.
Yes, she is sexy but with how she normally dresses, I see that it's in her character to do so. So I'm not trobled by it.
This is a woman who use to where a belt as a bra....You're suprised She dressed like this now?
I'm not surprised that she dressed like that, but i'm surprised Bioware felt the need to make her nipples actually visible.
Wishing ME wasn't so overly sexy

Yeah. in the case of Jack I agree. Her clothing is not sexist, its with in her character's persona and makes sense.

Also, Ashley never said she never wear skrits. She said she wouldn't wear a type of Skirt Shepard discribed in ME1. She still wears armor and she still blunt as a hammer.
The males are given more of a classic romin ideal build. It may not be in your taste but the males are still give sex appeal.
Miranda's looks are explained and with Jack's personality, it should not be a serprize she is wearing what she is wearing.
Edited my post about the males. Realised that it's my own personal taste.
And EDI sure didn't feel like a joke to me. It was very, very annoying. In the art book they didn't say EDI is a joke. It says she needs to be sexy.
Does it matter how she said it? Ashley isn't the type to wear skirts. And I know she can still wear armor. But the fact she ismeant to be wearing the outfits is what's annoying me the most.
I mean that Miranda have so little time, and even in that short time, she got countless of buttshots. Jack, that suppose to wear more now, is actually showing more. I know it sounds stupid. But in ME2, It took me a while to understand that she is wearing tatoos insted of clothes. In ME3... You see it right away, with the white thingy wrapped all over her.

Please define what you mean by "realistic looking people". Are we talking about people you see at WalMart or what? I know in the Elder Scroll searies, people are so butt ugly that I can't play the game with out modding them to a point where they don't look like a grotesque caricature of what an alien thinks a human would look like.

Matriarch Benezia is a very powerful asari biotic and spiritual leader among her people ... known and revered as a teacher of religion and philosophy ... Benezia felt that the asari should have a greater role in shaping galactic events. She was Saren Arterius' executor and a fellow Binary Helix investor ...

Umm, something doesn't compute here... let's hear what the guy who designed the Asari has to say about it:
..."With the asari, we kinda went for the classic science fiction, star trek "green space babe", except blue skin"

OP, who's your ME LI? Why?
When I paly mmos, I never create or pick the most pretty characters, I do not like the idea that I am a super good looking person, I like in games that I feel "real" like Niko Bellic for instance, an anti-hero that looks almost below average, I like that feel of "realism", and I rather look ugly, than a top model in high heels saving the galaxy.
In ME I awlays chose the default Shepard, I do not see the point of customising yourself in a offline game if nobody is going to see it, feels like a waste of time (I am look at you Skyrim
I played ME countless times, and tried almsot every single gender combination (F/M M/F M/M F/F) and species because I wanted to experience the whole of it (Although the only person I could not stand to have a LI was Miranda).
The one that I took the most at heart was Tali (ME2) Cortez (ME3).

If you read above, I already said what I mean by realistic:
Zaeed, Anderson and The Illusive man, all 3 characters reflects exactly what they are... and are very charming and attractive withotu having to look like super models.
Zaeed does not have huge muscles or a big bulde, neither does he have a pretty face, yet it makes me want to follow him.
Anderson, same thing, a veteran soldier without a perfect physique, nor a pretty face, yet I find him more realistic and appealing than Kaiden.
The Illusive man, has that mystery and beauty in his face that freaks you out, like when you see Robert Deniro in his movies "Is he being honest, and smiling at me, or is he about to blow my head off?". Being attractive, without needing to look beautiful.

I suspect that Jack wears bandages after a serious plastic surgery ;-)
I'm a bit surprised about women outfits in ME3. They were OK in ME1, slightly worse in ME2 (I have nothing against Miranda or Jack, but it would be impossible to keep that belts on chest for all the time) and hilarious in ME3.
An example: Ashley. She wears an armour but this armour looks like a short skirt and stockings. Strange design, I can still swallow it. But guys - high heels? On a battlefield? It's... It's so incredibly stupid idea I have no words. Why?
I'm also curious what the hell happened do Ashley's breasts. The scene in Huerta Hospital is hilarious. Anti gravity boobs? Reaper tech or something?
I have nothing against sex appeal but I would really like Edi to have a body of Geth Prime instead of a sexbot's shape :> It would be veeeeery useful.

2.It's in Jacks and Miranda's persona to wear what they are wearing. This is the team being true to there character. Jack coming out wearing what she is wear should be no serprize. And Mirand got more face time then all the the fomer crew.
Also, with Jack's tattoo's...It was about repealing people away from her. She not like that any more in ME3.

ME1 the armour hide body features. Characters were good looking, but not dolled up.
ME2 the armour started to show some body features. We got Jack and Miranda showing a bit too much.
ME3 the armour is strongly showing body features. Men look massively buff, women have curves. Ash put down her hair and dolled up. Kaiden must have started taking roids.
Oh course the other end of the spectrum is The Witcher 2. The protagonist is ugly as sin, most men are pretty ugly and usually fat. Most women look normal, with women who are mages being the only truly attractive people (since they use magic to alter their bodies in the lore).
