I just like farming like this on this level because I am not good enough for other gold games (actually never tried a random one, but I can assume) and I also don't have much time to play, so unlocking things takes me forever. I've been playing a little almost everyday since the game come out, check out my not so great manifest. I'm still buying veteran packs trying to level up a Mattock...

So, where exactly is the SE supposed to place the decoy? I usually play it, and I kind of just throw the decoy anywhere. Seems to work fine.

I have found it to be most effective in the center of the control room you hold.
All enemies flock to it and they get shredded while they stand around it, and can also be grabbed.

Agreed, a decent Gold Player can probably carry a team about 90% of the time if they have to solo. Especially before round 6. But, if you have teammates who are more of a hinderance compared to an asset it's a completely different story.
Bronze, and for most cases Silver you can have a John Rambo and survive with another decent player soloing, but Gold especially farming on Gold it's a team effort.
Even if you have the best player in the world playing if his teamates can't give him any help by holding flanks, or if they are to conerned about running around the map which leaves spawn points available for enemies; even that great player can't overcome those obstacles.
FBWGG the enemies come at you, they come straight for YOU, there is no reason to run around the map unless it's an objective round. None at all. It's a shotting gallery the rest of the match.
So yes if you do what you are suppose to be doing, but your teamates are being idiots, it is your teammates fault and not yours. So I will blame them, the schematics for farming are not that hard, just follow them.

I find that the Decoy is best placed in the doorway to the right when facing out towards the rest of the map (not the doorway behind). This attracts the desired agro and keeps the line of fire from pyros away from any of the players. It is also a good way to keep line of sight clear for any teammates throwing hate at the Geth assembled around that doorway. If you throw the decoy in the middle of the room, you are blocking other team mates views and creating a potential crossfire problem with pyros.
Valid point, your location is pretty much where I meant. I should have explained it better.

Only an issue if there's 1 sole guy on the outside and he/she can't handle the aggro over there.

And if some jerk goes running off to rambo things, the rest of the squad usually just lets him bleed out. Doesn't really affect much.
FBWGG really only gets hairy on wave 6 and 10, if you have to leave the hidey-hole.

Cloak is utterly useless when recovering and unless you've brought a decent sidearm or use an Assault Rifle as your primary weapon (and you're playing the wrong class then) you'll be in trouble if you get ganged up on and have no backup/cover. Let one of the other players (preferably a fast-moving race) get it instead and provide cover for them.
The only time I'll go for those objectives is if I'm right on top of it already or no one else is heading to it after 10 seconds into the Wave.

i don't farm on gold very often but if i do its on glacier not fbw. also people hate on runners why. i host gold lobbies and don't play with randoms and my friends and i run all the time on gold. we don't stick together either. its not hard to do. people saying there is no reason to run on gold, just don't know how. its speeds up matches and makes the game way more fun. my gold games usually 20 mins or under. typical farming match 30 min. or more. so in short don't hate on rambows become one.
I do speed runs too - on Glacier like yourself, in fact I see you are on XBOX - I was playing with the top guy in the world on XBOX the other day. and he was showing me some nice techniques. We were doing speed runs in 16 mins.
I am not hating on runners at all, on Glacier they are essential. If I am with guys I can trust I am all for it, but if none of my buddies are on and I have randoms failing to do the easiest task on FBWGG - (just stay still in cover and shoot), and they can't do that, it is their fault. I'm doing my part, all they have to do is theirs.
There is no need to be a hero, with their lvl 12 Vanguard male which they aren't even using properly.
Also, if I someone is joing a Random Gold match they most likely are not looking for a speed match, and should realize there chances of coming across one are not good. Therefore, once again no need to be a "rambow", just get the credits and move on to the next game.

Right,
Soooo...when I click on Quickplay/Gold, and I am placed into a room where it's already set up on Firebase White/Geth/Gold, with three other players who are ready, they are not there to farm?
Sorry my mistake, how could I ever assume they were there to farm, I am stupid.
And hiding in wait for the enemy is a ploy used by all militaries since the dawn of tme, hardly pathetic, it's tactical.

well, this DOES happen for sure...I play infilthy often (no mic/PC) and I am alwaus amused wheh the gang runs off the the objective. Then, I always say behind and try and draw the aggro. This usually works. If you head off with them, the team is toast...

TC is hardly useless. Since your team is camping in the back room, you can easily avoid most enemies, cloak for a moment so they lose track of you, (often not needed at all) then pick it up and continue on.
Shotguns work well on infiltrators. I do fine with one as my only weapon. The problems come up when enemy attention is brought to the device. (some one else needlessly tags along)

I use a GI or SI with the Talon or Saber all the time, and it works great. I certainly don't feel I am playing the wrong class... And actually I think the GI is perfect for the delivery, so long as the rest of the team stays put. With Hunter Mode and Cloak (which should always be ready when carrying), it is perfect for carrying, and then cloaking and moving to cover, pulling the enemy away from desired path.

All this depite the numerous people in this thread recounting experiences of doing just fine with an infiltrator camped in the L-shaped barrier, a tactic which I have seen used to great effect on numerous occasions and have even chosen to pull off myself once in a while... it just takes a small amount of skill in using Tactical Cloak... well.. tactically for a change, and not just purely as a ridiculously powerful damage boost, staying cloaked long enough for the primes to turn their attention back to the Decoy before you shoot again, so you don't end up leading one down to the corner and round to the back door.
I've also seen one very talented player work the landing mid way up the inside stairs to great effect whilst the rest of us took more 'traditional' positions inside the control room.
So, that having been said, I'll fix your statement for you:

You are right. You don´t have to be "solo gold player"(able to play solo) to be good gold gamer, but I have seen many times, when regular player is last survivor,he may panick and lose.Solo gold players are more confident in their abilities and it is more likely, that they succed,if things go down.

you are missing the main point of my arguement as to why camping outside is wrong. you cannot score more sitting outside than inside (cannot earn as many kills, i.e. help your team as effectively), it offers less cover, more difficult to do grabs, retreating or dying usually causes your teammates to be flanked from behind, it becomes a burden/death trap to the rest of the team to have to revive you, and hinders the players inside. all of these factors cause the game to take longer to complete. when you are farming it is a time vs reward ratio, where you try to get it done as fast as possible.
running around all over the map if nothing else, slows down the spawns for the rest of your team, causing the match to take longer. not to mention the constant deaths.
call me whatever you want, but at the end of the day, i am correct. i don't understand why you think everybody is against me, because i see a few people (you included) taking issue and majority agreeing. also, i don't understand why you think all i do is fbwgg
