Happy times for BioWare! I'm so glad they took home best RPG and best PC game. :D

I must say though... it's a travesty that Jack Black won best voice. Seriously now? Seriously?!! What the heck?!! He's not funny and I find him annoying. Claudia Black should have won it.

While I feel DA deserved to win in those categories, the VGA's are run by marketing budgets. Not really surprised DA managed to win out.

Jack Black is great at being Jack Black, which is why Brutal Legend worked, School of Rock worked, and even Kung Fu Panda worked. You wish Claudia Black won, fine. But you can't really call Jack winning it a "travesty". He did a great job.

I was surprised he (Jack Black) won. I didn't play Brutal Legend so I can't say from experience whether I liked his work in there; so I kept my mouth shut.

The thing is though I had a funny feeling he probably got a large amount of "kid" votes just for the very fact he is probably more known to them through other works mentioned.

As rigged as this contest was (no DA as GOTY candidate), it was good to see DA take home a couple of awards, even though it didn't really have any serious competition as far as RPGs go this year. When we have games like Borderlands being nominated as best RPG, you know right away DA would take it easy.

I have not played it yet but a lot of my friends here greatly enjoyed Borderlands.

Perhaps I was a bit unclear. I, too, love Borderlands. But it's definitely no RPG. It's FPS with a few RPG elements.

I can explain this, the choices we got to vote for in voice acting were annoying as hell, I believe we were able to vote for Claudia Black as a character in Uncharted 2 but completely ignoring Morrigan. a true shame. also with  the best soundtracks we were only able to vote on Beatles Rockband, Guitar hero, DJ hero and Brutal Legend (I think), there wasnt an actual game soundtrack, very lame.

Even though the competition in both categories was not super strong.

I think it is great for sales. PC game of the year and RPG of the year sounds really impressive.

Yes, that's exactly what Dragon Age needed to propel it into the history books, recognition from Spike TV. Now it is truly distinguished by winning on an award show that once had the category "Best Game Fueled by Mountain Dew Game Fuel" while Halo 3 Mountain Dew was out.

Forgive me if I hesitate to be thrilled.

Congrats, if this award means anything. That I bought a copy of the game and enjoyed it means far more to me, however.

While at the site I saw Demon's Souls which looked interesting, but not PC so too bad for them. Would have looked and played better on PC.

I agree that DA should have been nominated for more stuff, but I'm glad that it won everything it was nominated for. Go Bioware!

I just read a review in the local free rag and I did not like the review. The guy missed the point.

Congratulations. I came to post something myself. I'm glad DA won at least RPG of the year, not that I considered any of its competition really RPGs.. but it still deserved it.

It was weird hearing Claudia Black's voice all night as she did the announcements for the VGAs. I just kept thinking... "Its Morrigan!"

So he's great at acting as... himself?  That sounds like quite the achievement.

*Shrugs.*  To each their own.

If you've ever watched/played the things I mentioned, AND liked them, you would know what I'm talking about. Tenacious D, anybody? I mean really, if you find him annoying/unfunny, there's simply nothing to discuss.
