I'm confused by the histrionics some of the posters have engaged in.
The central issue here is the damage increase right?
As far as I can tell, that's the main concern for the "Nerf Tac Cloak" people. And while I'm mostly apathetic either way, I'm rather bemused by the claim of the anti-nerf folk that reducing the damage bonus completely invalidates the class.
Has anyone on either side ever tried playing an Infil spec'd for Duration instead of Damage at rank 4, and One Power While Cloaked at 6 instead of +sniper?
Independent of weapon use, that's a pretty effective character right there (obviously equipping a Paladin X or Valiant 5 is going to make it brutal, that's semantics). Cloak duration makes you an absolute beast for objectives, and really just adds alot of potential in terms of maneuvering and strategy.
Again, I have no horse in the race either way- but I don't see how anyone can honestly propose the idea that the Damage Bonus is the only redeeming aspect to tac cloak and without it the class is useless.
It definetly loses burst damage, absolutely. But you also gain advantages elsewhere, and are far less likely to ****** off "unskilled" teammates by gloryhogging all the kills.
I have 2 of my 6 inf. specced for that, me being support mainly and all

No problem, I typically only bumped or posted it when I saw a tactical cloak discussion. Hopefully more people will see it now.BoomDynamite wrote...

As a recent example... have you seen what the Reegar Carbine can do in the hands of TC? It's ridiculous. And the close range is a non-issue for TC.
I'm not really trying to call for a nerf to TC necessarily... but 'something' has to be done to allow us to have great weapons for other classes without having OP TC users running around getting them nerf'd down. For the sake of balance, 'something' has to change.

Haters going to cry and whine, but it's incoming regardless. Take a look at Derek's new thread asking everyone what their most effective class is. Every honest person answered infiltrator.

Lol @ thread still going on. Everyone arguing for tac cloak to be left alone is a baddie who enjoys FOTM and OP builds. Enjoy coming back to the real world when it gets hit by the nerf bat. A poll proves nothing, but the hard numbers thrown out over and over proving how ridiculously OP tac cloak is, do.

Every honest person answered Inf... Really? I was honest when I said TS or HE because I play those and have good games with them. Seems more like the ones "hating" are the those asking for TC to be nerfed.... Just saying. The people on the side of a nerf are always considered the "haters" regardless of whether they are right or wrong.

I want just to spend few words on the quarrel "everyone who want to leave TC alone is a bad player because needs OP builds etc".
These areguments are simply illogical. TC is not an "instant win button" (just to use another overused phrase). I played with a lot of bad players who were unable to complete the match regardless their class, and they played Infiltrators too.
It's about the player but it seems this concept is alien to many "nerfers".
I consider myself a quite competent player and I often outscored infiltrators with other classes and when it didn't happen I didn't care.
Do you know score is sometimes very situational; like being in the right place to kill enemies?
I played with persons who scored little but they supported the team. I was glad to have them in my team.
TC with its bonuses is the reason of Infiltrators existence; it's the class' main trait.
But most persons ask for nerfs as soon as they get outscored by someone else.
Beside I always wondered how they decide a build or a weapon is "overpowered". In order to be "over" something a build or a weapon should exceed given parameters but the nerfers never provided such parameters (a part I got outscored thus it's OP)
Last but not least: Who play on random lobbies flooded with unskilled players who join a gold match just to be carried and earn easy credits "powerful" builds and weapons are the only change to complete the match in a reasonable time, thus having fun.
Nerfing the fun in videogame is not a wise decision, but I suppose it's exaclt what several persons are asking for.

If a class is good, it will be nerfed. Worse, they won't go back and fix all the guns they nerfed because infiltrators made them look too good.
It's an old story... I often use a modified version of a line used in a famous Sci-Fi tabletop wargame:
"Suffer not the good weapon (or class depending on circumstances
Nerfers don't like realism. Why should we fight Reapers with watergun-like weapons?
They though it's badassly.
Imagine a US Navy Seals unit, and they are clearly badasses, requiring a useless weapon instead of an effective one claiming "badasses do not need good weapons"
You may have an idea of what would happen next...

Bringing in real world realism, really? Because then we can deconstruct the entire game.D.Shepard wrote...

I'm sorry but the argument isn't about realism. It's about whether this ability is unbalanced, compared to the other abilities.
The argument that a real world special forces group would use their every advantage is completely irrelevant. This is a game.

Unless you are saying that without OP abilities and weapons you couldn't complete Gold, at which point I would point out that playing Gold isn't neccesary and if you can't cut it there's always Silver or Bronze.
