How do you enable plot assist markers over characters (ie exclamation marks and those downward arrow symbols) and on the area map?

In addition, how do you get the game to show the "quest splash" that comes up for all of the quests in the game.

I've been able to create a new plot with journal entries that allows a quest to play out fine, but I'm unable to get these nice graphical assists to appear to help the player.

Edit: I've solved the mystery of why the "quest splash" wasn't appearing.  If you change a plot's priority to "Low", it does not display that splash upon receiving the quest.  Still no luck tracking down the plot assist markers, however.

Also, my apologies - it appears I didn't check which browser tab I was in when I clicked Post New Topic.  This should have gone in the General Discussion Forum.

For a quest giver, just set the creature property Plot Giver to True. This can be disabled later with the script function
SetPlotGiver(oObject, FALSE);

For quest destinations you will want to add the tag of the creature or placeable to the Plot Assist list (bottom right) for the individual plot flags that are triggered when you want the destination marker to apear and disappear (Status set to Yes or No).

Marvelous! Many thanks for the assistance! I just updated the plot page on the wiki to reflect this information in case anyone else runs into the same issue.

I guess I am missing something obvious about the Plot Assist marker.  I can set the NPC as a Plot Giver and remove the plot "!" after the plot is finished.  What I can't do is to set the intermediate marker.  The instruction says:

For quest destinations you will want to add the tag of the creature or placeable to the Plot Assist list (bottom right) for the individual plot flags that are triggered when you want the destination marker to apear and disappear (Status set to Yes or No).

I see a heading "Plot Assist", a "Comments" field and an "Add" "Delete" button at the bottom right.  Where is the Plot Assist list?  When I press "Add" nothing seems to happen - in fact I get an error that does not allow me to save the plot.
Do I add the tag in the Comments field?

If someone would show a screenshot I would be grateful.

Your plot window at the bottom should have three distinct fields. On the left is the journal text field - which is text that will be displayed when this plot flag is activated. Next is a list box that is used to plot assists (the add and delete buttons are directly underneath this), then on the far right is the comment box.

When you click "Add", you should note that in the "Plot Assist" window (directly above the add button) the text changes from "There are no items to show." to add an item in the list box there. It will default to a status of "Yes."

In the "tag" field, you should double click in order to be able to edit the text field there. Enter in the (unique) tag of the item you wish to add an intermediate plot assist marker to. (That's the little downwards point arrow symbol).

This marker will persist until you have a plot flag that uses the same tag but instead sets the status to "No".

Thanks! The problem I had was that I needed to drag open the "Journal Text" bar since the "Tag" and "Status" fields were hidden. After re-starting the toolset the two fields showed up.
