You believe you can buy it. I think is outside the dwarves' city, the vendor who sells second hand stuff.

Yep- the human vendor in the Frostback Mountains area. He is the same guy who you ask about Sten's sword.

Ruck sells a different piece of armor, armor of the divine will I think. Graphics-wise, it looks like the juggernaught armor. But it's not that good. Only the knight-commander armor has the templar look.

hmm couldn't get armor of the divine to come up.. So your saying the only templar armor in game is the one i missed in the mage tower, and one from a vendor outside the mountains?

AFAIK, yes. But the knight-commander's armor is so good there is no need for another templar armor

It's not called 'Armor of the Divine', it's called 'Armor of the Divine Will'. It's got the same stats as basic Massive Silverite, but has +20 Spell Res and -5 Magic Enchantments. It's essentially an inferior version of the Knight Commander's Plate.

So, based on that list, you can get up to 70% spell resistance as a rouge, right.

A rogue can't be a templar and can't wear it. So no

sorry, I know this is the KCT armor thread, but I followed the above link to gamebanshee and determined 70% spell res was as high as a rouge can get, is that correct? I know the Templar armor can't be worn by a rouge...

Without the commander armor/templar armor, you can get up to 92% spell res with gears and runes. 102% if you're playing dwarven rogue

@dogmeatvn: how? I am playing a dwarf rouge - DW, not SnS or 2H...I calc'd a max of 70% because you can only get one weapon with three rune slots without any DLC...

You have to use a dragonbone longsword and one dagger instead of dual daggers.

I see, but that requires you to spend points on strength instead of Dex or Cun...if you're soloing as a rouge, is that wise?

If you're a City Elf ylou can get a second Dragonbone dagger. So no strength required.
Whether or not you need strength is dependant on your build and the version you are playing.
If you are a dex rogue on console yes it is worth it as you will get a good damage bonus. A dex rogue on PC, no it's not worth it as strength is useless.
If you're a cunning rogue it's never worth it.
Just remember, if you do add strength, you can use item bonuses to increase strength so don't over do it(like I did with my first Rogue attempt).
I would say no matter what it isn't worth it personally as it adds only a max of 8% extra spell resist. when you already have so much spell risist 8% isn't going to make a massive difference. It's better to have a good strategy to take mages down as early as possible so they can't cast any spells in the first place.

also you need a character with high enough willpower to wear the knights commander armor which such cause you never invest it with allister

actually, you can use rose's thorn + a dragonbone crow dagger for 6 weapon slots total. easiest place to find said crow dagger is from the lyrium smuggling quest in orzammar, where you have to persuade Godwin to part with 65g and the dagger.
pretty sure you can get more 3 slot crow daggers elsewhere, but i doubt you'd need more than 1 unless you're making an offset
