If you do not complete the From AShes DLc before going to Palaven Javik will not be available for between mission discussions like after the Rachni mission or when he jokes around with James.

Does anyoneknow if this is intentional or a bug?  Seems to me it should not matter when he is picked up.

I think that is a bug. I always pick him up after Palaven and he is available to me on all missions afterwards. The only time he was not available, was when I did From Ashes before Palaven. But that is because Menae is programmed to be done with a fixed squad.

Hmm, the first time I played the game for my walkthrough I picked him up before Palaven but in those particular instances where Javik is walking with other team members outside of his quarters he was there.  Maybe if you do it a particular way in a play through you have to do it again if you do a new game+ with that save file?

Like I mentioned, in this playthrough after the Rachni mission Javik was not in the rec room talking with Garrus and the soldier about how he had seen much worse things during his time due to Reaper corruption.  He did appear in Jack's section of the ship but that was the only time he ever appeared outside of his room.

I believe I recruited him before Palaven in my original playthrough, but in my current New Game+ playthrough I did his mission after Palaven and he acts just like he should. So I don't think that is the problem.

Have you tried deleting the DLC and then downloading and installing it again?

However what I said still stands.  I just checked my videos (this mission is coming up in my uploads next Monday) and after the reactor mission Garrus is in the gun bay area and Javik is in his quarters.  No one is in the Rec. Room.

I would like to add that I did the Geth Drednaught before doing that mission so that could be a possible reason as well.

I would like to add that I did the Geth Drednaught before doing that mission so that could be a possible reason as well.

I think the comment on the youtube video about the conversation taking place after the N7 fuel reactor mission is incorrect. N7 missions don't seem to trigger any additional Normandy conversations with anyone but Cortez.

This claims that the conversation happens after the Ardat-Yakshi Monastery, but I don't really recall.

If you haven't already, you should be coming up on the conversation between James and Javik in the mess hall soon. I just finished Rannoch on my current playthrough and remember it happening recently (I think it was after the geth consensus mission).

Oh damn, no you are right.  I think it is after the Ardat-Yakshi mission.  >.< epic fail on my part.  Well I will post if it does or does not show up (between James and Javik; if it does then this topic is failed D: ) as I will be recording more of my walkthrough tomorrow.

A little late but disreguard this thread.  Javik did show up to chat with James I just got when he shows up for those different conversations mixed up.
