I sorta agree TC.... but there are some problems with the game that makes ME3 a  gem riddle with flaws in my opininion. The most important aspect is the combat gameplay which to me was near flawless except for the a button doing nine other differen't actions. And the second most important aspect to me was the story and it was fantastic.... up of course that ending which in all honesty thought it was garbage, unfortunately and since this is a no spoiler board I will refrain from explaining why.  Oh and the last thing I thought was really well done was the music, it sort of put me in a trance as I progress through the game.

There were other problems such as the journel not giving useful information and updating letting you know you have said item to turn in, stiff animations, characters using wrong weapons in conversation scenes, the annoying auto-dialoge, and 90% of the side quests were mindless simple fetch quests.  But the combat gameplay, music and and again the story before the end overshadows those problems for me. But that ending TC if you haven't already try the other choices and see if those were wildly diverse endings that Bioware has promise us. Because of that I can not bring my self to play the game again until they recitfy their mistake, and I love mah femshep. But alas I'm glad you had a better experience than I did.

Gotta love it when fans of the same game attack each other just because one "side" does/doesnt like the ending.

The Series were Epic and the games, I just wished Mass Effect 2 and 3 just followed The Original Mass Effect tradition and elements. I'm not counting that crappy Ending, I'm using my own for now.

I did like ME 2 out of all of them while ME 3 was a fun ride it did have...derailing moments. The ending being one of them. The ME series is still an awesome adventure irregardless. Plus I like a certain meme I am afraid to mention due to Mr. Priestly watching this post.

Can everybody please just stop bagging on the ending? Sure, it was horrible in every definition of the word but can anybody honestly say that if ME3 had a better ending, it would be a perfect game, paving a new gold standard for similar games? I dare anybody to say, with a straight face, that the entire game was complete crap and never deserved to see the light of day. I already know at least 1 person can say this but the majority of us can still say that they enjoyed the game until that point. Sure, I hate the endings too but I refuse to let 5-10 minutes destroy the entire series. Despite the endings, Mass Effect is the greatest series I have ever played.

Pinnacle station was fun but whatever happend to Shepards apartment!

I had that same question while I was playing ME3 (and looking forward to retiring there). The place was too far out of the way for the Reapers to care about, unless they were hell bent on screwing up Shepard's retirement condo before processing the rest of the galaxy.

Challenge accepted. No, being serious it's not that bad and certainly not didn't deserve release bad, and it's not even the first ME game to have a few odd plot holes. But let me put it like this - I bought the first two on Steam for ten bucks each and had so much fun that in hindsight I'd have been happy to pay full price on release day. Still playing them in fact, and having a whale of a time doing so because their story flaws are fairly easy for me to to overlook (this is subjective and as with all such things YMMV). ME3... well, I've only played a bit round a mate's and watched a little online but as of this moment I don't own a copy and even though it's come down in price to around A$30-40 I'm still not buying.... yet. The game play is good and some parts of the story are really stand out high quaility stuff - a lot of the stuff on Tuchanka, for instance. But overall there's just too much of the story that makes me laugh in the wrong places and for the wrong reasons (can't explain why in full in a spoiler free area). Again, this is something that ME1 and 2 were both occasionally guilty of but with ME3 it starts before Shepard even leaves Earth, and after that it just seems to carry on often enough that the gameplay and flashes of plot brilliance like Tuchanka can't compensate for. I probably will buy it eventually, and depending on the EC possibly sooner rather than later, but right now it's just not even a $30 game to me.

Mass Effect 3 has been and was one of the richest experiences I've had in gaming in along time. It was deep and fulfilling in a way that few games have ever fully achieved. The entire game is tinged with this this bitter sweet melancholy air, it's great I love it. The character development is at it's best, Bioware regained their touch for humour as I found myself laughing my ass off at so many times, and they managed to bring a 32 year old man with 2 kids and a mortgage to tears. I am richer for having experienced it. It is a shame that what is an amazingly good game will be drowned in a sea of anger bitterness and trolling.

Same here.

It's not long ago, a friend of mine started playing Mass Effect. I was never interested in this game until this point. The story was/is just awesome!

So I decided to start playing ME with all its DLCs. (Created my own Shepard.)
Bought ME2 and all its DLCs, imported ME into ME2 and finished ME2.
Then I bought ME3 with its DLC(s), imported ME2 into ME3 and finished it all.

It was just as awesome to see my very same Shepard going through an amazing big story. From 1 to 3. So attaching, I laughed, cried, got angry. Emotional roller coaster I'd say.

Thank you BioWare for this experience in video games. By far >THE BEST<, in my honest opinion.

And now, I am impatiently waiting for the Extended Cut; just can't wait for both DLCs. :) Looking daaamn forward to it I might say.

I thought the whole trilogy was magnificent - perhaps even better than the Baldur's Gate saga, which previously I'd have described as Bioware's finest work. The three games are marvellous individually and integrated to a really extraordinary degree. Inevitably there are bits of each that I'm more lukewarm on (ME's repetitive sidequests, ME2's claustrophobic cities, ME3's last couple of cutscenes) but all in all, it's an remarkable achievement.

Ending aside, I agree. Hopefully the EC will erase my compulsion to use an asterisk when I talk about it.

3 really created a sense of urgency and dread, unlike the previous ones.

ME felt like the unlocking of a great mystery. Exploring and getting acquainted w the galaxy while uncovering a huge threat.

2 was my intro to the series and it still had that air of intrigue but seeing Shepard get spaced and learning about the collectors really made it dark, in a good way.

Being happy with this game seems like drowning in bitter vile in these forums. Seriously people?

I'm looking sincerely forward to the next Mass Effect game, if we ever get one.

Aaaaaand I'm installing Dragon Age: Origins as I write, so if that game and the 2nd lures me in, I'm quite sure I'll be looking forward to seeing what the next Bioware game will be, irregardless of what title. Yep. No secret sarcasm or cynicism, just honest pleasure with the games so far.
