If you look at the number of blank posts, you'll know why.

The only good Mass Effect game was Mass Effect 1. It had the trio of good things: Good gameplay, good characters, and good story. Mass Effect 2 had gameplay and characters, but the story was weak. Mass Effect 3 had all three, but less so than Mass Effect 1. In fact, everything before the endings (with the exception of the Geth AI mission with Legion) was mediocre. In nearly every mission, there was something I didn't like or thought they could have written better.

No matter the issues I have with ME 3 that I won't speak further here, but there is no doubt that what I did like was amazing. I love ME 1 and 2, and most certainly a major portion of ME3.

No matter what I will take away those memories of such an awesome gaming experience. Thanks for bringing it to life, thanks for all the hard work everyone put into the series.

No matter how anyone feels about certain aspects, Bioware and those involved at the very least earned that.

That's funny, because I thought the Geth Consensus mission was the worst mission in the game pre-ending. Awful gameplay, bad writing, and all auto-dialogue.

I hated the white washing of past Geth atrocities in that consensus mission. It was a bunch of disney kumbaya ****.

Exactly; it was just an endless stream of unsubtly being beaten over the head with "the geth are totally innocent and the victims in all this!"

Theres a warning posted by Chris near the bottom of the first page everyone, failing to follow it may get you banned + comment censored/edited. Just friendly reminder. =]

And to stay on topic, thanks Bioware! And thanks again if the EC really will fix the ending problem!

But weren't most of those atrocities the reponsibility of only the heretic faction?

(We can spoil ME1 and ME2 here, right?)

They are not innocent. They made  quarians flee their homeworlds.
But its made their actions reasonable, it shows their motives.
Just choose the Quarians over geth, to see how fast the consensus changes against you.
Thats far better then keeping the geth plain evil without motives.

Quarian/geth war. The geth killed 99% of the population, yet that mission puts a massive pro-geth slant on the whole thing, and attempts to completely shift the blame off of them (I'd go into more details, but spoilers, you know).

OK. Note that even in ME1, it sounded like the geth were defending themselves against quarian aggression. And the quarians own objectives do seem to have been just as genocidal as what the geth ended up doing.

But I guess the geth did overdo it a little. It seems likely that the point at which they'd won a conclusive military victory came somewhat before they'd depopulated Rannoch altogether

I can easily thank Bioware for what they did right, and a lot of ME3 deserves that thanks. The other stuff that felt either rushed, unfinished or just plain out of sync with the entire trilogy gets a big thumbs down though, and genuinely makes me feel saddened to think what could have been and how I was looking forward to my Renegade play through which now looks doubtful. Kudos where it's due but not those issues.

Even including what's wrong with the series, ME is by far better then... well, pretty much everything out there.
I think they've crossed some kind of threshold, a sort of "uncanny valley" of quality, where the games are so good most people can only see what is wrong with them.
I mean what do we compare them to? Deus Ex's ending sucked, and the rest of the game was on and off in terms of quality. COD, Battlefield, and the shooters aren't even worth mentioning, really. Even the witcher, which people like to bring up so much, had to do extended ending DLC and really needed it- and  let's not even mention the state those games launched in, especially the first.

Deus Ex had and ending which while still included the dumb "choose your adventure" thing, at least felt like a suitable conclusion purely from a writing perspective. The execution lacked quality, but the content did not. The ME3 ending is wrong on all levels.

I too seriously enjoyed this franchise to the point where I rebought Mass Effect 1 and 2 after I traded them in (along with DLC). I am one of the few "journey better than destination" people, and refuse to let a ten minute cutscene ruin 100 hours of awesome gameplay.

For the people who attack people who like ME3, grow up. You don't like ME3, we get it. Most of us do, however. You don't have to attack every person whose opinion on the game differs from yours. You are like that atheist who deliberately goes out of their way to try and trash a religious persons beliefs. Why does it bother you? Are you really that miserable with your experience you have to make everyone else miserable too? I seriously think that it's you people who make people resent Mass Effect 3, and not Biowares 'mishandling'. It's a game, a wonderful game, and a wonderful series. I'm sorry you don't agree, and yes you have the right to express your opinion and defend it, but you do not have the right to bash other people for enjoying something you do not. To me, that is very childish. Mass Effect has been known for having a very mature, intelligent fanbase, and by completley trashing the fans that don't agree with you're opinions, you tarnish that very reputation.

Thank you Bioware for this amazing experience you have given me. I have been a Star Trek fan since I was three years old. I will be 21 in a few days and can proudly say Mass Effect has dethroned Star Trek as my favorite Science Fiction franchise, and look forward to future Mass Effect.

No. There was no heretic faction prior to contact with Sovereign. Geth historic militant-isolationism (killing all who approach) and the Morning War genocide of the Quarians in excess of the combatants is a full responsibility of the Geth themselves.

I played ME1, Pinnacle station, ME2 and all DLC and I just finished Mass Effect 3.

Wow .. what an experience. I bought it on release but avoided all internet conversation about it until i had time to play. Played thru it in about a week (over 50 hours game play time completing all side missions). Let me tell you it was the most amazing experience I have ever had with a series the writing the story everything was epic. ME3 i felt was the perfect balance between ME1 and Me2 as far as rpg and gameplay is concerned. The whole game all your decisions from previous Mass Effects where brought up. the story was absolutely completely and totally awesome.

Mass Effect 3 was emotionally exhausting for me without going into spoilers .. I Laughed ... I Cryed ... I got Angry .. I had Regrets .. It made me re-examine some of my own believes. I was emotionally exhausted. Thank you Thank you Than you.

My only regret is i cant play them all again for the very first time.

Please give us more in this universe.

I both envy you and pity you at the same time.

I envy you because you enjoyed it so much.
I pity you because this is that you really don't play very many games if this is really the best ever.

Thank you, Bioware, for the great games you used to make. Baldur's Gate II is still my favorite RPG of all time!

I thank you for the time when you communicated with your fans.

I thank you when you had the courage to make a niche RPG back when everyone else was doing action games.

I also thank for those Bioware people who are still making interesting RPG projects.. with Kickstarter.

And you know this how? I can state for the record that in my case that is false so it could be in his as well. i play many games and agree with his assertion.
