...I misheard the lyrics of The Smiths' song "How Soon Is Now?", believing it said "I am human and I need to relax / just like everybody in hell does".
It was better that way.
When I was 10 years old...

When I was ten, 9/11 was only a couple of months prior and by then people were already calling me mean names.
And then I turned 20 and now I own them. /pelvic thrusts

Almost as traumatic as me and LPPrince being ten years old during the events of 9/11 I believe.

When I was 10, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, and Robert F Kennedy were assassinated, Arlo Guthrie performed Alice's Restaurant, and the Apollo space program sent a manned mission out of Earth orbit for the first time.

Worst part- I was born in Manhattan and was still living there at the time.
Guess how crazy it was having everyone run for their lives.
Good times, good times.

Yes. A face and a body to go with it. I was in lust.

When I was 10 I was sunburnt. There were some really hot summers back then.
Elvis had just died, which was the first I'd heard of him, the Sex Pistols were being rude and flares were in fashion. And Tom Baker was still Doctor Who.

When I was ten, about this time of year, I learned three very important things, two involving cold.
1. If you freeze a Snickers bar, it becomes more wonderful.
2. If you freeze a coke in a glass bottle just enough, it becomes slushy when you pop the cap.
3. I would be starting in a new school come the fall. Not just a new school for me, but a new school for everyone in the school. We moved a lot when I was a child and the cliques were already formed when I showed up. A totally new school meant I could make friends. And in the fall, that's exactly what happened.
