Okay, I am a dedicated Bioware fan!! I have almost every Bioware game there is.... (missing a few, like Baldurs Gate) And usually I have had tremendous service from Bioware in the past resolving issues. For Example: When Dragon Age II would not work on my Laptop they mailed me a copy for my PS3, then I got the game to play great on my laptop and I called to tell them I would send the PS3 version back (to be honest) and they told me not to worry about it and to just keep playing Bioware games. I thought that was awesome, and rare for a game company in this day of age. ( I am an older gamer and remember the old days when you could return a game after opening it.)
Enough History onto the problem. I have Mass Effect 3 on PS3 (wish I could have bought on my Laptop so I could transfer my save file over, They told me it would not work, but my friend has the exact same laptop as me and it works PERFECT, EXACT SAME LAPTOP) So I wish I would have just bought it for PC that way I could use my ME2 save. But anyways I have Multuplayer maps installed (free ones) and now everytime I try to play the game on my PS3 it gets stuck at 'Checking Downloadable Content' I have tried every solution I have found (Except deleting my save files!!) I read a bunch of solutions on the forums but none of them work. I CANNOT PLAY MY GAME!!! ANd I love this game and I am having withdrawals from Mass Effect 3.
Things I have tried: I turned off connect to EA and Upload progress off a long time ago... But I cannot even get to the extras to make sure its off. I know the automatically connect to EA is off because when it was on I got so muuuch Lagg it was unplayable (like Skyrim) but thats because i have slow internet speed, not the game. I reset my PS3 and try to launch the game again.... Nothing happens I still get stuck at checking downloadable content. I have tried deleteing the patches and downloadable content and it still wont let me play. Same thing. I deleted everything in the install data for ME3 on my PS3. And it still gets stuck at Checking Downloadable content. I have found no solution to this. I dont like to complain on the forums, making this post was and is my last option, especially on such a GREAT game!!!! I have tried everything I have read except for deleting my Save Files.
If I have to delete my save file then I probably wont play this game unless I get it for PC, which would be great because I love this game series. Its my favorite of all time. I dont have $60 bucks to buy this game for PC. I dont have $30 bucks to buy it again, lol. I already bought this game... I dont want to have to buy it again just because I want to play it so bad!!! I dont want to start over... I have around 66 hours in on one profile and my Nephew has around 50 hours and we are both in like tears over this issue. I have found no solution and I havent been able to play for the last 2 days. No matter what I do it will not let me play this game
Is this just a glitch I take it?? I really want to finish this great game, but I cant. I even tried leaving it on for a long time at "Checking for Downloadable Content" I left it for around 2 hours and it was still there. Everything I try doesnt work. Like I said I will try to back up my saves then delete them and try again. Right now I have no patches or downloadable content installed and it gives me the same thing.
I am sorry for making such a long post, and making a new Topic. I would just like to talk to someone about this. Just to be clear, I am not trying to get a new copy of the game, All I want is to play my game. I wish I didnt listen to EA when I ordered this game and just got it for my PC because I know now it will play, and it plays good. I really want to carry over my Mass Effect 2 save. But I was okay to sacrafice all that in order to just play this game. THis really is my favorite game. Out of every game I own (soo many) the only game I want to play is this one, but I cant and its tormenting me. Does anyone know how to Bypass this? Is there a way I can skip the "checking for Downloadable Content"?? My friend who has the PC version said he has never dealt with this issue and he has had the game longer than I have. I finally got enough money to buy this game a few weeks ago. The only solution I have read that works is to buy the game again, which I really dont want to do, because it costs more than I have, lol. But I am desperate to play this great game.
Well anyways thank you for at least giving me a forum to vent on. I appreciate that. Like I said before I have always had great luck with Bioware, so I am hoping for a fix without having to start over on the PS3. Ill try backing up my saves and deleting them and then try launching the game that way right now. I am just really frustrated and this was my last option before I turn the game into a paper weight. Its torture not being able to continue or play this wonderful game. If anything I will have to wait until I can afford to buy this game again for my Laptop. (thats what I wanted to begin with but EA told me NO IT WONT WORK, When Actually it works PERFECT on my Laptop) They talked me out of getting it for my laptop because I orginally tried to buy it for PC. I am not to happy with that, but hey I got it for PS3 I just want to play. Thats all I want is to play this game. Sorry for such the long post. I do apologize I am just so frustrated.. It will not ever go past "checking for Downloadable Content" no matter what I do, and its a real bummer!! Thank you to whoever reads this and tries to help me. I really do Appreciate it. If I could trade my PS3 version for the PC version I would start over, but otherwise I just wont be able to play this game because it wont let me. THank You Again.
