So, I'm starting the Dwarf Noble origin. Your initial companion is Gorim, who is carrying Gorim's Sword, which is a tier 5 sword that has a strength requirement of 25.

Gorim has 16 strength. After unequipping the sword, neither he nor my main character can equip it.

Bug? Feature?

Well, you can't keep the Gorim's Sword either way because...

*** Spoilers ***

...once you get thrown in the jail you will be stripped of all your equipment and sent to your death with nothing on you. No armor, no swords. Even lost my DLC items like the Blood Dragon Armor, Memory Ring, etc. Lol.

So it's obviously a bug.. or alternatively we get to go back there later and salvage those items. Well, at least I hope so, haven't tried yet. I will post a reply after I've gotten back to Orzammar to see if there is any way to reclaim your belongings.

If not, then there's only one way to deal with the situation, which would suck immensely. That's to disable your DLC items from the game menu until you've completed the origins story and later enable it again. Oh yeah, and sell everything you can before you lose it all.

Well I believe he mentions you finding him at the end of the origin, he most likely was allowed to keep his belongings.

You will find Gorim's sword among the dwarf merchant in Denerim IIRC.

Basically, you're not supposed to unequip the sword from him. They really should have just given him a strength of 25 to allow him to "legally" use the sword, but they didn't, so eh.

As for the stuff you lose, no, there's no way to get it back, you lose it for good.

To get it back, simply save game, disable the DLC,
force load, then save game, re-enable the DLC and you should have it back.

You can do that more than once, but you only get one helmet.  Both Allistar and i are in DBA right now.

Thanks for the advice. I did as you recommended and got my items back. (I still would like to see Bioware fix this oddity, though).

By doing that I also discovered an exploit to farm gold forever. You can sell your DLC items and do the above trick again and again... You always get your items back. Someone has probably figured out this exploit already, but anyway. :bandit:

I'm not gonna use it though for the same reason I never use any cheats, I enjoy the challenge of beating the game honestly. Single player or not.

During the battle of Ostagar, on your way to the tower, you can meet either a few random guys who'll aid you. The soldier who came with me? Yeah, same problem. Took of his helmet, and couldn't re-equip it.

You are supposed to get you Promo Items back when you get to Ostagar. But there was a Bug with the Dwarven Noble that caused you to lose items and not get them in Ostagar. Not sure if they ever fixed that in a patch. I dleted my DN because of it.

I am not sure how it is with the unpatched game, but with version 1.03 I got back my DBA chest plate when arriving is Ostagar. (It was the only thing I still had btw)

posting an answer in a 7mo old thread carries the same amount of intelligence as asking if the world is flat now-a-days

I know that I got my DLC stuff back in Ostagar on both DN play throughs. I believe this was fixed in patch 1.02. One DN I finished on 1.02 and one I finished on 1.03 with Qwinn's fix pack installed.

I KNOW HOW TO GET UR STUFF BACK!

ALL U HAVE TO DO IS COME BACK AFTER LOTHERING AND BREAK BACK INTO THE PRISON, ALL YOUR STUFF WILL BE THERE IN A HEAVILY LOCKED BOX, RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR CELL.
