7.5/10 without the ending. It passes, but it wasn't that great. The choices we made didn't really effect much, and for a trilogy built upon choices that is discouraging. Corners were cut, the Squadmates barely spoke (and when they did, it was rarely with Shepard), some major characters were written as cameos, were out of character, or were just not present, and the lacking of side missions and proper character development are all points against it.

If the EC is absolutely fantastic, then I may bump it up to and 8/10. Currently, counting the ending, the game sits at a 3/10.

With no ending(s) I'd give it a 7.5/10
Good gameplay but no minigames and no real exploration anymore.

Ending(s) included it drops down to 5.5/10.
Overall it just wasn't as satisfying as the first two games.

9/10 and only because of the lack of ME2 squadmates.

You're asking for my opinion right? Well my opinion is that the Mass Effect trilogy have no match even with the flawed endings. There are only three games that made me believe I was looking at something far beyond the scope of a videogame recently, and those games are Mass Effect 2, Batman: Arkham City and Mass Effect 3.

It's a 7.5/10 for me. Even without the weaksauce ending, it's the weakest entry in the trilogy for me, and i'll quickly list off my reasons:

1. Bad journal system
2. Auto Dialogue
3. Side quests reduced to boring eavesdropping scanning quests
4. Romance scenes for most characters are pitiful
5. Final mission is rushed and anticlimatic
6. Intro is rushed and sloppy
7. No exploration
8. No boss fight
9. A lot of choices didn't amount to anything
10. Too much emphasis on MP
11. Vent kid
12. Day 1 DLC

This is why I got a bit of a problem when people say the first 99% of the game is perfect.

This, but a 6.5 - 7.0. Highlighted the major flaws for me. Oh and also add one more...

ME 3 is probably the most obvious Mass Effect game out of them all where the phrase 'No two players will have the same experience' is almost a total lie.

Played a fresh game and with import. Had a very different experience with them in many scenes. Maybe you're doing something wrong.

Besides that, after three playthroughs still easily a 10/10.

These are my reasons as well, and thus I'd give them 7/10

^^^This although I wouldn't give it a 7.5 though. I'd give it a plain old 7.0 :wizard:

All of this, pretty much. 7/10 for me.

Really a shame how this entry, which was supposed to be the most epic, was the weakest of the series.

Prety much this.

You got occasionally different dialogue in the otherwise same scenes. This does not qualify as 'no two players will have the same experience'.

I'd probably give it a 7.5. It's a flawed mass effect game but I will take a flawed mass effect game over most games that come out.

If I completely ignore Priority:Earth?
Hmmm...
8. Maybe 8.5.
A lot of awesome moments, but annoying autodialogue, boring Reapers and decisions were far less important than promised.

7 or 8 without the ending, about 4 with it (might be higher if I'd started with 3).

I work on a proper 1-10 scale where to get 10 everything has to be completely flawless and for a 9 damned near close, not one of those "less than 8 means it's complete rubbish" scales that too many reviews seem to give. An average game should score 5. Don't ask me what an average game is, I've not played enough modern ones. Elite is probably my only 10/10 game because it's hard to imagine how it could've been better considering the hardware of the day (although someone later came along and pulled a miracle by doing just that).

I agree with guys raiting it that way. compared to the previuos Mass Effects this was better in mechanics but that was just the half of the game, the more important thing to me was story, and RPG elements, that in Mass Effect 3 were cut off I don't know why! Besides, I hate you have to play MP to get a "perfect ending".

So yeah, I also give it a 6.5/10.

Since you don't know my scale I think it's pointless to assign a number. Let's just say I like ME3 but I also think it's the weakest entry in the series. The plot has bigger problems than the ending, like for instance a Crucible that relies on the mass relays and which was built to be deployed in cycles when the relays were shut down by the Reapers.

first playtrhough 7/10 too many issues, but enough moments that I enjoyed to still see it as a good game. once i got over the ending, i tried replaying it again, to experiment with different options, imports and such. at that point it fell to 5/10 I still enjoy the music, overall aesthetics, voice work. but extreme linearity of the game, handwaving a great deal of choices, auto dialogue that made all my Shepards act and sound like the same person (I'm not talking about VO, I'm talking about the fact that regardless of the choices I made - they would say essentially the same things), lore inconsistencies, comic book villains and too many "plot demands" occurrences.. and that's not counting all the issues i had with gameplay on PC

IMO its the worst in the series.

In comparison to ME1 and ME2, I would give ME3 an 8.8.

ME1 is the weakest in the series for me, as I had a lot of bugs and despised the combat and inventory system. 7.9 here for the characters and the universe it created and for being the first in the series.
ME2 improved upon the combat and was a different experience all together, even though the main story was very weak. 8.5 here, in my rating system at least.
ME3 gets a 8.8 as it has the best combat and a lot of emotional content and although they were some flaws here and there (like the auto-dialogue that I somehow didn't mind that much), the whole thing was the best entry in the series for me. And this is including the ending.

It's definetly not the best game ever. That is still Paper Mario
And maybe Portal 2. :P

Not including the ending, 9/10. It's not perfect but it made me weep 5 times and nothing has done that since Spock died in Star Trek II (and I was 9), and I find that rather impressive.

With the ending, 8/10. Yes, I found it quite disappointing. Mainly because the first 2 games did an unusual thing and didn't go off the boil towards the end (most games seem to fizzle out, IMO). ME3 only properly dropped the ball in the last 5 minutes. That's a -1 in my book.

I loved the whole series, and I loved ME3, and the only reason that I wasn't satisfied with the ending was because I didn't feel like it lived up to the standards set by the rest of the series.

All of the stuff with the Krogans and the Geth was a great pay-off, but the very end (personnel artistic differences aside) was just to a,b,c and didn't seem to match any of the previous ethos of the Mass Effect universe.

I'm not so sure that they're done yet though... (fingers and eyes crossed)

Well, that's what it is. Ignoring the ending, I'd give it 7/10. - clearly the weakest in the series. The combat system, squadmate interaction and some story arcs were very good, but there was also plenty of flaws. All of them were already listed, but for me the chief ones were:

-Very weak main narrative line (the frakkng Crucible!)
-Lack of difficulty, even on insanity
-Terrible fetch quests

Even ignoring the endings, ME3 is a flawed game. Good, but deeply flawed.

Add to this:

13. Treatment of the ME2 squad
14. Streamlining the planet scanning turned into NO planet scanning.
15. Diana Allers...WTF?
16. The two twits and the scanner on the Normandy
17. New characters instead of allowing ME2 characters on the squad
18. The crapton of clipping/collision
19. The new crappy design of the Normandy

Yeah, this game was not ready for release and promises were not kept. This game has no replayability for me.  I can't even give it a number, except the $130 NZD I paid for it.
