I would give it a 7/10 just because I liked 90 percent of the game even with:

-plot holes
-no real reason to play paragon or renegade roles
-dependancy on MP
-exploration mini games that were not really that fun
-only a few of the side missions were fun
-Day 1 dlc
-Lol ending
-relationships dont seem real (wanted more interaction)

Am i still going to play the ME games i paid for? Yes, i am.
Will I pay for new dlc?  Not unless the consensus is that its amazing
Will i play another Mass effect game prequel or other.  Prolly not.
Am i going to trust Bioware to deliver on the expectations for future releases?  Prolly not.

6.5/10

It just doesn't live up to 1 and 2. A "picture" of Tali instead of seeing her actual face? C'mon. Scanning was just as bad (maybe worse) than it was in 2. The journal was craptastic. Side quests were practically nonexistent. Some of the VA sounded off, like when Liara says Kaiden/Ash needs medical attention. The emphasis on MP was too much, I shouldn't need to play it to get the "best ending," the only reason I started it was to get the achievement for most assets delivered and to help friends with it. K, Anderson I heard you when you told me you were born in London the first time.

Ignoring the ending, I give it 8/10. Autodialogue, bad intro on earth, a few pointless feeling 'choices' and boring eavesdropping quests reduce it down for me.

The ending is so appauling though that it drops it to a 6/10 for me. And I don't mean the last 5 minutes, the last hour is fairly poor.

6 out of 10.

Honestly, it was a good game, not great. Way too many flaws, glitches, lousy animation and autodialogue to make it a great ME game. It had SO much potenial, but noooo, Bioware had to kick that in the face with their artistic integrity and too many lousy handlings of previous decisions. Great work, dudes.

It's a 7.5/10 for me. Even without the weaksauce ending, it's the weakest entry in the trilogy for me, and i'll quickly list off my reasons:

1. Bad journal system
2. Auto Dialogue
3. Side quests reduced to boring eavesdropping scanning quests
4. Romance scenes for most characters are pitiful
5. Final mission is rushed and anticlimatic
6. Intro is rushed and sloppy
7. No exploration
8. No boss fight
9. A lot of choices didn't amount to anything
10. Too much emphasis on MP
11. Vent kid
12. Day 1 DLC

This is why I got a bit of a problem when people say the first 99% of the game is perfect.

Yeah I agree with that sentiment.  About 3 or 4 hours into the game I already knew it wouldn't be my favorite of the series

Ignoring the ending. I would have to say 7-7.5 out of 10

its an emotional ride..combat is greatly improved from ME2..however were it fall short is in some of its key elements, namely Auto Dialouge, this feature took away from what I considered my Shep, the majority of the convos I had felt off. Then theres the Cookie cutter side missions..or fetch quests...Those took away from the game, especially when Bioware employees had made statements about how happy they were with the system they used in ME2 and said that, that was hw it was going to be. The journal...which I found strange considering it was great in both ME1 and ME2, but this time around I had to sit down with a note pad and check things off while playing the game. Romance subplots...those were Incomplete...well Incomplete for ME2 characters...Like Jack for instance. Then theres the tie between MP and SP. While MP is fun that is not why most ME fans bought the game. I have other issues having to do with story elements but this should get my point across.

Personally now that we have all three games in the trilogy, I believe that ME2 is the best followed by ME1 and then ME3.

I would give it 5.5 - 6 at the most. There was parts I enjoyed like Tuchanka, but there was times when I felt my Shep was being forced to feel a certain way or react in a certain way which broke the immersion a little for me. I just didn't enjoy it as much as the previous two games which were solid 9s for me.

9/10. A few of the plot elements from previous games don't pay off, but the production values for the game were excellent, improved combat system, multiplayer, etc.

Ending aside, I'd give it a 5/10. It looked great and played well and had a few great moments, but I was consistently disappointed at how utterly stripped down the role playing was and also at a number of story elements within the plot itself. At no point did I feel like I was playing my Commander Shepard. I was playing Bioware's version with the occasional chance to throw my own opinions in every now and then.

With the ending it's a 2/10 at best.

You can't rate ME3 as a game without including the narrative-shattering ending. This is the reason why all of the "perfect" reviews are questionable at best, complete lies at worst.

If you cherry pick certain aspects of something and ignore the rest, then anything can be good. Even something as horrible as Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 can magically become the greatest film ever.

without the ending 9-10
with the ending 2-10

thats how bad the ending is it killed the whole thing and left me feeling depressed and made me think that I had wasted my time.

the worst part of it was when I tried to start a new ME1 play through got to the character creation screen and just thought "what's the point shepards only going to die in the end and nothing good happens at the end" then I turned it off

so it's killed all three games for me.

Ignoring the ending, it's a 7.5 for me.  Still too many glaring flaws for me to consider it up to par with the first two; meaningless sidequest, terrible journal, and auto dialogue being the worst offenses IMO. Edit: Also, this...

Ignoring the ending? 6/10. Why?

- Game was rushed
- Bad journal system
- Photoshoped Tali face...
- Fetch-quest
- Auto-dialoque
- No harbringer
- Only one world hub and very limited.
- EMS with multiplayer

True, there were some nice scenes, but nice scene was for 10 minutes. The things that I wrote above? They were in the game all the time.

I wanted RPG not an Action game, if I wanted one I would play COD or Battlefield3 or another one of these. Too much RPG elements were cut from ME3.

It's a touch better than ME 2, in terms of game play. I'd rate that as an 8.
It's considerably worse in terms of the journal and questing system. I'd rate that a 5.5 (dead average).
For story, parts of it are amazing, parts of it are weak. I'd put that at a 7.5.
For gear customization, I'd put that at a 7-ish.

The bugs are minor and annoying; there's one that can force a reload until it gets fixed (the stuck at the cockpit bug). That gives it a 7.

For the bloody ending after Anderson and Shepard sit and talk, I give the entire project an F (see me after class)..

Ending: -1 (nuff said)
Auto Dialog: -.25 (so...I'll just set the controller down now)
Tali's Face: -.25 (inexcusable really)

Verdict: 8.5/10

IMO of course

6/10.

Too many bugs, journal system takes multiple steps backward, "A" button on the Xbox does far too much, Thessia, Earth, Decisions...

Shall I go on? They should be fortunate that this is pre-ending.
