and btw, props for that promise, and more so for sticking to it.

Long story short-

Friend I made a long time ago. The only person who tried to save me from a very dark, negative life. Friends for life, held hands, kissed as friends would, good times.

Her parents- chronic alcoholics. Drunk driving, hit her. They get sent to jail, she's told by docs that she's not gonna make it 24 hours, she has them contact me, I show up and spend a good many hours with her. Before she forced me to leave to get some sleep, she made me keep promises if she kept promises too- I'd never get drunk and I'd succeed in life(love, home, happiness), while she'd be my overwatch in the sky/guardian angel and find my Princess for me and push her in my direction.

She died while I was sleeping at home. That girl is one of the reasons I'm still kickin.

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that had I never met her and spent years with her, I wouldn't be trying to be positive today.

Folks on the forums (not just these - any forum really) tend to forget that there are real people on the other side.
You'll see posters get catty for absolutely no freakin' reason. I make it a point to only get snappy with someone if they're being ridiculously rude to someone else for no reason. You never know what that person has to deal with when they walk away from their computer.

So just for that reason, everyone gets a polar bear hugging an arctic wolf. Aw. Posted Image

Keyboard warriors suck. Better to be yourself. Say what you'd say to someone's face rather than acting tough and being negative just because there may not be any repercussions.

But I do act negative IRL.

I'm a bit of an arse.

Random acts of kindness brightens anyone's day. As for the forum drama, it's what makes the place

Then this forum needs more random acts of kindness.

One that instantly comes to mind is Arcadian Legend uploading avvies for me out of the blue when I didn't even ask for them.

That was absolutely amazing, and I loved it. Things like that are what build friendships, or make them stronger.

The forum needs more people like Arc. I just hope some forumites can say good things about me, as I do not under any circumstances want to leave a bad memory with someone here.

That's sweet. I didn't think it could really be done over the internet, apart from something like the "say something nice" thread (which in the end turns into more a tool for making jokes). It's more poignant when you don't know the person, or well, like a stranger paying your bus fare.
The reverse seems to be true for mean things. A friend being a wanker will **** up your day whereas if you're harassed or robbed by no one in particular you can just shrug and say "That's life."

Luckily my friends here kick butt. I've formed friendships over the years I've been a BSNer(and on the old forums as well).

I trust them.

It's true. The wolf seems a little uncomfortable with the polar bear's forwardness. Ah well. C'est la Arctic.

I honestly do believe that thread is what every thread should be in the BSN.

@LPPrince: I admire your goodwill, but I'm sorry to say that the 'old' Bioware is finished. ME 3 was for many the last straw. :/

Yeah not sure I believe that, they always say that it was the last straw but I have a feeling they will be back in force come DA3 complaining about how horrible it is as well (though with the Dragon Age series their complaints may actually have some validity since the Dragon Age series is rubbish). In all honesty ME3 was a fairly enjoyable game and it certainly wasnt a huge departure from the quality of ME2 and it was certainly far better than the first installment of the series. I think it less about the quality of the games and more that some people still have a stick up their arse about Bioware joining EA and will try to make out that any game released under the partnership is so horrible that it proves that EA are ruining Bioware, skewing evidence to support their own twisted agendas.

But that being said I gotta admit these forums are much more interesting when the fans are spewing hate, more fun to watch.

Thanks for throwing whole the Dragon Age series into the trash can. Also, if you can accept a random, badly photoshopped image acting as the face of Tali, a game model of an IGN game reviewer (Chobot), endings that make no sense, irrelevant choices and space magic in a game, go ahead. I for one won't. Whole ME 3 stinks of corporate greed, however good it might have been. And NO, it's not about people just whining about Big Bad EA, it's about LEGITIMATE complaints. If you gonna make a game, make at least a good one.

Anyway, I'm gonna end this discussion here, because I don't want to turn this into a ME 3 hate-topic. Posted Image

The old forums may not of been filled with entirely happy threads, but they were definitely closer than the state of our forums now.

The old forums just were moderated far better than this site. But well, if a company decides to expand and pander to a wider audience, the customer him/herself will be lost out of view.

Seems like forever ago when the old forums were around. Sometimes its hard for me to remember what it was like.

Good memories on it though.

People just need to stop comparing which forums were better. Is this site is too much for some then they can just leave. It's not that it is a vital part of their lives anyway.

What exactly were the old forums like? (in general) I don't know since I only joined around the beginning of 2010.
