Good news, OP! Priestly recently gave his opinion on negativity:

You don`t have to be positive, but if you don`t want to be, stay out or don`t post.

Apparently negativity is also ban-worthy now, provided it's in a thread that's intended to be positive. That'll shut those people with dissenting opinions up!

What exactly were the old forums like? (in general) I don't know since I only joined around the beginning of 2010.

Fun. Exciting. Filled with activity. More moderating(which kept the baddies at bay).

Good times.

Lol I think someone is wearing rose tinted glasses. Unless the last 3 years have been crap.

Also if negitivity is bannable...well then this makes this place a giant police state where its "BE HAPPY OR ELSE"

Thats not being happy. Thats pretending to be happy with the fear of force and punishment.

I already know, my last suspension was a 24 hour suspension I received for having a negative opinion in a positive thread(I believe in the DA2 section) and constantly posting in it.

You know, like some OP saying, "I like DA2, thanks Bioware" something of that nature, and me coming in with "I didn't like DA2 and here's why", and discussing it with others.

I found it odd, but understandable. You don't want a happy thread to be soured by dissenting opinions. Negativity towards a subject is best kept to a thread made to contain said negativity.

Happy threads should stay happy.

It's actually ironic how the My Little Pony topic is about the most positive topic around here... Bronies FTW.

I honestly do believe that thread is what every thread should be in the BSN.

BRAIN BLEACH!  I NEED BRAIN BLEACH!!!!!!!

Such a mature reaction. Grow up.

Its not understandable, its Tyranny pure and simple. I mean really, if someone were to post a crappy drawing on here, or something offensive and the first couple of poster say "OH THIS IS GREAT" then so do you. Thats just silly, not too mention wrong.

Happy threads should stay happy.

In that case, everyone who posts positive things about the game in a complaint thread should be banned as well. As I don't believe that's ever happened, there's a double standard going on here.

And if the thread is titled "What did you like about the game?" or somesuch, then that's one thing, but if it's just someone ranting about how much they liked it without attempting to establish any sort of discussion topic, that's quite another (when I got banned it was the latter).

I wouldn't call it tyranny. Seems a strong word for it.

But I DID find it odd. I thought it was fine to disagree and talk to others about why, and a lot of us started to talk about DA2 being less than stellar, and then bam. Suspended.

I took the suspension without fuss, but I can understand why someone would find it wrong to be suspended like that.

Some call it thread hijacking. Others call it sharing/discussing a differing opinion.

I'd like to call it the latter(definitely seems more positive), but I can understand the logic of those who feel its the former.

Any ideas as to how to cheer the people of this forum up?

I suggest heavy drinking. It works for a while anyway.

Seriously though, I do admire your attitude prince and wish I shared it. As everyone here knows, I'm a professional pessimist who only exhibits flashes of optimism. :)

Better the flashes of optimism than none at all.

@LPPrince I think your attempt to inject some positivity back into the forums is admirable. In fact, you inspired me to remove the me3 ending links from my sig. They had been there long enough, time to move past that.

I must say though.. when I read your post in another thread somewhere about your username... I confess I was disappointed the LP wasn't short for Le Petit ;P

If you want it to stand for Le Petit, by all means, consider it such. I won't stop you, hahaha.

Strangely enough, when I see the "LP", it makes me think of LP tanks (liquified petroleum - propane). I have no idea why.

LMOA? That's funny; I have typed it as LAMO before, myself. Image IPB

If you're not feeling especially positive I suggest drinking a Sonic cherry limeaide. It is seriously impossible to stay negative when you've got one of those bad boys.
