Can someone explain to me why infiltrator is a problem

What I don't understand with INFs is: Why does being invisible grant a damage bonus? Is it is because you are surprising the enemy? If that is the case, then shouldn't shooting them from behind grant the same bonus?

so a Krysae X with hunter mode and cloak hits for nearly 1600 damage. That kills a brute on bronze in 4 shots (1 mag while cloaked, then reload and fire once). It was more of a problem with the gun and hunter mode than it was the INF, so BW/EA made the right move.

You lost me here.  Is there something I'm missing about hunter mode?  Nerfing it 7.5% (or w/e) did nothing to nerf infis.  It did hit the geth engi a bit.  Tac cloak is and always has been the problem.  If you really wanna disagree go read the math from others threads.  That 7.5% wouldn't change the number of shots to 5 so I clearly and not understanding what your trying to say.

It's a problem because most of the other "problems" have already been nerfed. The Nerf Herd needs something to complain about. Their idea of a perfect game is where every gun does exactly the same thing, and every class has exactly the same useless powers.

Why they don't just go play Call of Duty, nobody knows.

In any case, Infiltrators are extremely useful, and I'm always more than happy to have them in my games. 3 Infiltrators in my games = easy money. ;)

All you seem to be concerned with, like many, is your own experience.  You say "don't ruin it for everyone else," yet you seem quite oblivious to the fact that others are having their experience negatively impacted by something that is OP.

Tac Cloak has only been a problem since release of the krysae. Before that I didn't see post after post about how it was OP or needed nerfed/balanced. The problem came about because the bonus damage boosted the AoE of the krysae and Infiltrators went from 1 enemy at a time *usually* killers to multikillers. Had they released the krysae with it set up in such a way as it didn't get the damage boost from TC then most likely nobody would be posting about it even now. It's possible nobody would have posted that the krysae was OP either for that matter.

Another truism is that when they finaly get thier way, and the infil gets adjusted, they will shift thier crusade to another class.

eventually the class these same people crusaded to buff, will end up on the nerf list and they will be just as adamant about nerfing them as they are with infiltrators now.

Thus goes the nerf feris wheel of gaming.


Next will be a call to nerf Biotic Explosions.

Can we stop pretending that Infiltrators revive their teammates at a higher rate than any other type of class?  This just isn't accurate.

*sigh* no. I'm just saying: MP is fine as is. But, it can be ruined. From crybabies. If the game is ruined. Then what? $$$ I spent is gone. I really enjoy MP as is. But so far all I see on these Forums is crybabies. I used to see Educational Productive Threads ie. Builds, Video Guides on who to do Solo and how to play Gold maps correctly EtC...

And if the "nerfers" keep up with their demnads, guess what: Bioware will listen. Just look at TOR, they're going to make the game Free-Play soon from demands.

You must be on Bronze a lot, then. Any other class doing revives/device objectives just get in the way and lead to chain revivals.

Look at all the posts in this thread, the MAJORITY are in favor of NOT nerfing Tactical Cloak, which shows that the devs take these threads into account perfectly fine by going with majority rule.

since the nerf, it does take 5 shots and sometimes 6. They nerfed the gun and hunter mode and left the cloak alone since a human infiltrator is already extinct and the QI may as well be out the door too since they nerfed the only reason to use her in the first place by taking the tech damage x 100% down to 50% after a sab.  (I miss super backfire and super sticky-nades)

While I don't understand the idea behind being invisible granting more powerful shoots, but if you drop that, then QI, and HI are done.

I love the infiltrator class, but I do think it need a nerf or two just cause it's too powerful! I mean there isn't really any reason to use any other class, just because it perform the best dps out of any class.

I recently found my new favorite class to be Turian Soldier.
I can spam my concussive shot where I can finish off enemies with ease.
I've finished first most of the time even with infiltrators, only the ex-cerberus agents may beat me because PEOPLE CAN BE SKILLED IN A class.
Not a single ability brings something into an OP level, people must know how to use it.

That's been explained several times.  People weren't complaining because it was only the dedicated people who actually had black widows, javelins, high level widows, kiskocks, or valiants.  The common player didn't, ergo a lot of infi's would be pigeonholed into shooting with a mantis which is a little unforgiving (I'm sure most agree with that lol).  

The release of the Krysae was purely coicidental when talking the emergence of these threads and served as icing on the cake.  Any player with a decent sniper can outscore themselves versus another class assuming ceteris paribus.

Personally I think that team bio is going about this the wrong way.  Giving every geth hunter vision and banshees magnet fingers new thermal sensors make moving through a map with cloak a lot more dangerous than it used to be.  Not nearly impossible and certainly easier than with any other class, but it lowered the utility of the Infiltrator.  

I'm really not in favor of making infiltrators a one-trick-pony as their powers already encourage them to be a solo class.  Nerfing their damage to make them even to everyone else, still ensuring they can bring the pain to primes, brutes, banshees and atlas', and increasing their synergy with other classes via utility is what I prefer.

Looking at the way things are trending Infi's could turn out to be the next soldier.:P
Tac cloak is going to be nerfed.

So people who think there is a problem do not have a right to discuss it publicly in a civil and thought-out manner? Have you heard about about freedom of speach? Would you rather nerfers all send e-mails of complaints to the devs so that you wouldn't even have a chance to argue your point of view?

Every class has a role. I play all classes and do just fine with each of them because I KNOW WHAT THEY'RE MEANT FOR. The ones calling for nerf are the ones who can't play the Infiltrator and get outscored by the class, plain and simple. Maybe if they practiced, they wouldn't be such crybabies about it.

We're not talking about the pros and cons of each class reviving teammates.  Right or wrong, the rate at which Infiltrators revive their teammates is not higher.
