I was talking about quarians in particular here. Using incinerate on something hardly qualifies as supporting.Someone With Mass wrote...

Engineer IS a support class, in theory. It just happens to be that it isn't actually the case when you play the game. We need to discuss the real situation, not ideals
Oh.
I bet those people puts the flamethrower on the geth turret and lobs it behind the enemy instead of near the team behind cover, where it can refill shields. Or uses Overload on armored enemies while shielded ones are crawling all over the place.
God, there must be something wrong with me, since I'm not wasting my time with things like that. I should rush out and die instead.
Am I doing things wrong by putting the burning and armor evolutions on Incinerate too?
Since quarian infiltrator's grenades do almost double damage...

I like salarian engineer, decoy is useful and energ drain is a life saver. The geth engineer has good weapon damage but real squishy and less surviable than a GI counterpart and the recent nerf didnt help either. The male quarian is nice. Arc grenades and incinerate= explosions.

I think the OP here is a case of unexperienced player. I say the same thing i have said a countless times. there are no good or bad classes. only good or bad players.
Good players can still do better with certain classes compared to other classes. But I agree with you in thinking that OP is an inexperienced player. From his posts within the last week, I wasn't sure if he was being overly dramatic or just didn't know what he was talking about. Someone in this thread pointed out his Manifest and it makes sense now; he's just inexperienced, but blames the classes rather than himself.
LOL. Yes, I blame myself that I can't play the game 16 hours a day like you do.
And you really shouldn't be commenting on my manifest while having your profile set to private. Are you really that much of a coward?

Fire explosions combined with tech burst > biotic explosions. Comparing to adept classes, all engineers > ha. All engineers are good as only tech player on team. Many of the adept excel in tandem. I would say the the engineering class is on par to the adept class with gold suitability.
Engies> soldier class ( greater mobility, higher damage dealers , and better at bursts and explosions. 11weaker at melee , ge withstanding ,but not really gold standard)
Engie > sentinels (really only tech of sentinel is TA which is a contraversial power. Send rely too heavily on team, aside from hs)
Engies> vanguards. Less glitchy, and better overall power spammers)
Human Adepts get a bad rap, but believe me, Engineers are not better than Adepts. Granted, I would definitely rather be an Engineer vs. Geth, but I prefer the Adept vs. Reapers, and either one against Cerb.
Different? Yes. Better? Not at all. You've just played with the wrong Human Adept is all I'm saying. That class is one of the stronger Adept classes, if not the strongest outright.

Where are you getting the idea that he (or she) plays 16 hours a day? Should he feel bad if he does? I don't understand what this has to do with the idea that your OP indicates a lack of either judgment or experience.CmnDwnWrkn wrote...

you dont have to, i have played this since the start, and i never considered any class worse than the other, i saw the game for what it was, something you need to get better at before you can understand it. If you go saying what you stated in the post, it just clearly says you dont know wht your talking about, but the way you replied to someone when they called you on it, shows not only are you inexperienced. you are an ignorant and selfrighteous on top of being a newcomer, which tells people a short but easy to understand message, To ignore you.

I don't hold grudges, I just have an aversion to stupidity.
You on the other hand, are throwing a tantrum, and calling someone else a "coward" because you can't see his manifest. I guess e-peen is everything to some people...

If you have an aversion to stupidity you should be directing that inward, but I guess that's too painful to accept. And yes, I do find it cowardly that someone would comment and draw conclusions from information on my profile that they've hidden on theirs.

Human Eng - I use the combat drone to keep enemies distracted. All of the Engies powers are very spammable, so keeping the combat drone out at all times is trivial. Overload wrecks regular enemies, strips shields, I feel like an idiot typing this out it is so obvious,. Why u no like engies?

Geth Engineer has wallhax, healing turret and chain neural shock as well. The turret can help watch your back with the flamethrower upgrade and can be launched over to your team to heal them. The Geth Engineer is my go-to class for Gold Farming on FBWGG because the entire team is almost always within healing range.
The Quarian Female Engineer might be underpowered to most people, but being able to freeze enemies with Cryoblast is definitely a good move. The ammo power I use most is cryo (Krysae/Falcon + Cryo FTW!) so being able to do that without needing to use a consumable (especially since I never get the ones I use the most) is a godsend. Then when the enemies are frozen, Incinerate does like double damage with the proper evolution. The turret is pretty much useless aside from distracting enemies, but the Salarian's decoy and the Human's Drone is much better in that role.

With the exception of the Salarian's Decoy and Energy Drain, this class simply does not have anything going for it. Engineers are supposed to be tech specialists, but Infiltrators have equal tech abilties AND much better combat abilties. As a result, Engineer, generally speaking, is an obsolete class. The Engineers need SOMETHING to make them the undisputed tech specialists in the game. With the relatively weak tech powers they have, they effectively don't specialize in anything that a separate class doesn't have.
A perfect illustration of this is the Quarian Male Engineer vs. the Quarian Male Infiltrator. These two characters are identical in two powers - tactical scan and arc grenade. The difference is in the third power. Infiltrator gets tac cloak, Engineer gets....Incinerate.
Please improve this class! It is much needed!
My lvl20 Human Engineer beg to differ. On Gold.
Also, lvl20 Quarian Male Engineer joins to him.
Lvl20 Geth Engineer drops a turret into the party and clear some disturbing Geth Hunters with GPS and Overload.
Salarian Engineer nods from the corner, respecting them.
If you cannot play effectivelly with other engineers than Salarian is your problem, not the classes.

I agree with this. Spammable in a good way though. Overload, Drone, and Incinerate are great supporting powers. The drone isn't going to take out a group of enemies, but it certainly distracts them away from your team.
However, one of your points. The QME or QMI? Yeah, I choose TC over Incinerate.

The only utility an engineer can give that no other class does is the geth engineer's turret, and that's hardly game changing compared to what another adept or infiltrator would bring to the table. I always thought engineers should be given a bonus to defusing objectives and a speed bonus for group hacks. At least they'd have SOME utility then.
