I'm thinking Garrus, as he is evidently skilled in sniping. However, as I think about it, Thane, Legion, even Ashey (with her marksman power) have all demonstrated their sniping skills. I wish there was a contest between them to find out who was the best. And of course, none of them is better than my infiltrator Shepard, but let's just leave him out for now~~:)

Now I wish Ashley went on that date with Garrus to see who's the best sniper.

Legion.

Followed by Infiltrator Shepard and then Garrus.

If I recall correctly, in ME3 Garrus' passive class power tends to buff up his sniper rifle damage slightly more than Ashley's, while Ashley's class power buffs up her assault rifle damage slightly more than Garrus'. So you could perhaps take that as a pointer.

Ashley's the better sniper of the two in ME3, though.

While I'm a Garrus fangirl, I'm going to join the 'Legion' club.

I'd admit Legion might also be a reasonable choice, his aim is probably more steady than organic's. His processing power may be able to take more environmental factors into account digitally. Anyone vote for Thane?

I always saw Ashley as a more balanced type, equally proficient in sniping as in handling an assault rifle. Her Marksman ability also seems geared towards the latter.

Thane is good, no doubt, but I'd imagine that as an assassin he would need time to set-up for a good shot.

Legion, well, he is a robot and started his career as a sniper 300 years ago, so if I had to guess, I'd say he is at least very good. I didn't see him in action though, aside from sniping a few Husks, so it's hard to say just how good he is.

As for Garrus, well, his feats leading up to his recruitment mission in ME2 speak for themselves. So Garrus it is.

Sorry, I'm a bit late!

But yeah. Garrus. Unquestionably.

The best marksman is obviously my infiltrator Shep. He beat Garrus in his can shooting game with one hand tied behind his back, and the only reason he didn't beat Legion too is that Legion wasn't dumb enough to challenge him.

He's a crackshot :D

I don't know if Garrus is a better sniper, but I do know that Thane and Legion could both obliterate him at melee combat.

He has reach, Thane has flexibility ...

*unpleasant picture appears in mind*

Well, that was totally unasked for.

Shepard first, then Garrus and Legion are probably tied. Then Thane. Ash is last

What? A soldier Shepard is much better than an infilrator Shepard with a sniper.

But Ashley is probably the most skilled in gameplay. Garrus is the second best in gameplay, but the best as far as the plot goes.

I'd definitely say Garrus, based on cutscenes. He's been shown making more far-off sniper shots than any other.

I'm not going to judge gameplay because, for the most part, I'm only paying attention to my Shepard. (And I'm definitely not the best marksman. Unless you count shooting the enemy right in their bum. Most of my shots land there. I don't know why. Maybe I'd win the vote for "most unintentionally hilarious marksman.") Garrus does seem to steal my kills more than the others, though I haven't really used Ashley.

Well, I did the experiment quite often: Ash & Garrus, in my first playthrough.
Both do quite well, 'though Garrus has a tendency to die more often than Ash. She simply doesn't get down if placed perfectly. In the final mission - when you have to use the Thanix Launchers - she died exactly once. Garrus fell more often (but not half as often as Liara I had in another variant of that mission, same playthrough 'though).

If it comes to survivability, Ashley is the better sniper than Garrus - in mission. Which is sheer irony - she can die permanently at two points in the game, Garrus can die only once. :P

Legion since he has precise targetting, and after him it's Ashley. Garrus is more of an assault rifle than aprecision guy even if his cutscene weapon is a Sniper rifle.

Not based on gameplay at all, but I'd always thought that Legion was better than Garrus because he could use the Widow in ME2 *shrug*

All pale in comparison to The End.
