If I go on a good adventure with my friends, but the night ends with me getting horse **** all over my face, I'm not going to have good memories about that night for a LONG TIME.

I can't go back in time to what the night felt like before I was covered in horse droppings. I will always remember being **** on by a horse. I won't be able to view that night as a fun night in it's entirety for a while, but in the future, I'll be able to remember the first half of the night as good, but still have bad memories about the last part.

So no, it's never about the journey for me.

You have shamed the legacy of the great Neal Schon.

Actually, I just realized this applies to Deception as well. The first three books you had this build up of character like Gillian, Nick, Anderson, Sanders, Hendel, and Leng. Besides building up and subsequently destroying Leng as an antagonist, Sanders and Anderson achieve nothing in regard to the Reapers in the end and spoiler alert besides them and Leng everyone dies. So besides introducing Kia Leng and Sanders those books were utterly pointless.

And even the survivors don't amount to much, Sanders gets a cameo in game, Anderson bleeds out and we can't take Leng seriously.

So much for artistic integrity. They blatantly say their ending sucked in this ad. Maybe it's time the ending was changed.

Listen to the song and let Steve Perry's vocals wash over you in a wave of epic-Tenor-ness.

wow.. I always liked this quote, but there is no other way around the use of it... Banners like these the quote should be about the game's theme.. like "Take earth back" or "Unite the Galaxy, stop the Reaper threat"

That quote has nothing to do with the theme and bluntly points to the issue of the Ending... Not Cool..

*paragon Interupt* The end in no way justifies the means!

While I get where you're going with it, I'm going to steer this conversation into being a serious one: in video gaming, the end more times than not justifies or nullifies the journey.

Think about it: In Halo, if ultimately the series ended in a completely disappoiting way, would decimating millions of Covenant forces, destroying two Halo rings and the Ark, saving Cortana from a Flood-infested vessel, et. al be worth it? The answer is no; same with Mass Effect.

Well, since everything about Halo story-wise is horse****, I don't think this is the best example.  ME was pretty good for a video game, and ME3's stage was set for it to be the standout of the medium.  Instead, they decided to make it more of a COD game.

I would consider Halo far and above Mass Effect, in terms of its main narrative.

Please. I'd rather not hear your opinion deriding the series.

Regardless of it, the example still stands even if you don't think it makes for great lore.

You'd never expect a product to have such a reputation, either...

I hate that quote but it's funny that they've resorted to ads like this.

I laughed too.  Pretty obvious that they want people to ignore what they've heard.

Saying that it's about the journey always makes me think of Futurama:

Bender: "I was God once."
Space God:  "Yes, I saw.  It was going well until everyone died."

Sorry, but that destination can make you regret the journey just as easily as it can make you enjoy it.

That doesn't even make sense. What pre-release statements would gamestop have?
