Just to remind everyone, everything that happened from the Reaper invasion on Earth to the first meeting with the Council on the Citadel is considered the "prologue." Therefore, it is definitely possible that the "epilogue" will have gameplay as well. With the amount of time BioWare is taking to complete this Extended Cut DLC, it makes gameplay more likely. By the way, after beating the game, the legend save always takes you back to the point right before the Cronos Station mission so those "additional cutscenes and epilogue scenes" will take place right after the Horizon mission.

Either it took Bioware about 2 months to just iron out what they were going to do with the endings or there's something else going on here. I highly doubt it would take this long to make cutscenes and still be in pre-detail announcement mode and while I'm sure it would take a while to piece an ending like this together, I don't think it would take a few month to do.
Simply put, there's probably something else going on here. Not necessarily gameplay but something that likely extends beyond the stated parameters.

MP DLC is done by a completely different studio, it always has been. MP DLC is self-sustainable with buyable upgrade packs so that completely different developer can churn out as much MP DLC as they want and still make money.

All I know for certain is Bioware is working on it. I can't take their word that there will be no combat or it'll be simple things, as so many things go on in their offices that it's easy for confusion to get mixed up in everything. I think the best example was the latest release of the free MP DLC. Someone said the patch would be included separately, then we realized later the patch was included in the DLC. Lots of jumbled up words and such.

With the amount of time they are putting in EC, I wouldn't be surprised to see gameplay of any variety. I wouldn't see why they would not add gameplay to the EC.
