Basically, one of the folks at IGN hasn't seen these forums and largely thinks that people hate EA for making money.

I've been in the journalism business for some time and that's pretty terrible. I never agreed with EA being the worst company in the world. The idea is ludicrous. Anyone who picks up a newspaper knows that. Not that there are not disturbing trends, however. The point is, the article is blatantly one-sided and does nothing more than defend one side against the other with assumptions and nothing more. In this kind of article, you find voices for both sides and let them make their case. Anything you present that is not in quotes or preceded by he/she said better be fact and not an opinion. If this guy went to a journalism school, he needs to give his degree back.
More on topic, if they read their own comment section (on articles as recent as the Wii U announcement), they would know that the ending issue is still being talked about.

Bah! I'm no socialist. I'll gladly pay them if they make a product I like. If they make a bad product, I won't buy it. Simple as that.

Regardless, the media is renowned for spinning things to meet their own agenda. Weasels, a great number of them are.

No one has forgotten the endings and that's the main reason why. Don't get me wrong though we still hate EA.

Tell that to the people who post on their facebook page on every update about the ending.

It is rather laughable to say that everyone has forgotten about this.  Like you said, their own comments section would show that isn't the case.  Though the whole thing was rather ridiculous since it seems to be written with the notion that a company like EA needs somebody to be their champion.  Things like this are why people question the honesty of professional reivews.

There is no such thing as "professional journalism" in the video games industry. I learned that the first time when I learned that Gamespot fired the reviewer for Kane and Lynch for giving it a 6/10. The really ****ed up part? It was at the behest of the company who made it. If that doesn't tell you how corrupt the video game industry is, I don't know what will.

Everyone's already forgot about it huh? I think I can say with relative certainty that Bioware sure hasn't forgot about us. They are still making the EC if I'm not mistaken

Sometimes it is best to just IGNore them.

Though I find myself agreeing that the hate for EA is a little extreme. However to think that the unprecedented backlash against the ME3 endings has already been forgotten is a bit IGNorant.

It's funny but the way I see it, the lack of ethics or just apathy I see on many of these game sites harm the companies they defend as much as they harm the sites themselves. An example would be the Origin issue. I know nothing about Origin and have no opinion on it. However, I saw that enough people were talking about it and it would've made a good news story. You get an unbiased expert to help you investigate the matter and then have a definitive article saying "'Expert: 'Origin is spyware'" or "'Expert: 'Origin is not spyware.'" If it is, you confront EA on it. If not, you ask them questions more in the tune of how they can definitively change minds or get the word out. But by ignoring the issue, it just festers more and more and people get more distrust for the company and the news site. And then there's stuff like this article. Geez. They need more people with newspaper experience, in my opinion.

I don't hate EA or IGN. EA let me down drastically with the ending that they let/made Bioware drop on Mass Effect, but I don't hate anyone over it. I just feel an overwhelming sense of disappointment when I think about it, and think about what it could have been.
