All games but if I had to pick one, The Witcher 2, as it did what ME3 should have did.
Witcher 2 was amazing, especially when you consider that not just the end, but the entire middle part of the game is completely different depending on your choices in act 1. But back to the ending, I loved that I could just walk away from the final fight, and have it make total sense in character. I don't recall ever playing a game like that.

Dragon Age 2
It's a sad day when even that ending beats Mass Effect 3's ending.

Also this. TW2 gave you an option to have a final boss fight or not. Plus you can even drink vodka with him!Skelter192 wrote...

Many, many games do. But...my favourite game ending is DA:O. Going through the mirror with Morrigan was the best. It's ironic that my favourite game ending was made by the same company that made my LEAST favourite game ending...
Yep, one of the best endings ... And what's even more important !!!! EVERY ENDING you might have chosen in DAO is better than ANY ENDING in ME3.

Its only better than RAGE, but since its just a FPS without some solid story ME3 still have the lead.
I was thinking about Rage, but put it down not as an ending, but a badly conceived lead in to DLC or a sequel.
I was shocked when I realised the game only had two main bases of operation, which I suppose is one more than ME3!

Spoiler alert! If you haven't finished Batman Arkham City yet, go. Play it now. Sell back ME3 to buy it if you don't own it.
The ending to Arkham City was so unexpected, but so well written. It's exactly right. They really got the relationship between Joker and Batman down perfectly. You can see how guilty Batman feels, and him giving Joker one last laugh was touching in a way. Tali might have mourned a geth, but that ending got me a bit misty-eyed over the death of one of the most evil characters in history.

Bioshock 2 had the player character die at the end. But his surrogate daughter takes the Adam from his body, and POV switches to her, leaving us knowing that part of him lives on through her.
Overlord's Raising Hell DLC ended with the Overlord challenging and defeating the devil, only for the portals to hell closing just after the minions escaped, but before the Overlord can. This leaves Gnarl lamenting that they'll have to find a new evil master. After all, evil always finds a way. And back in hell, all the demons bow to the now trapped Overlord.
All three of these have the heroes (or at least, protaganist in the Overlord's case) dying, or trapped or something. And all such endings fit the stories quite well, unlike ME3's, where the ending just got dropped on Shepard out of no where.

I have been playing game since the Atari 2600 and I can safely say that ME3 has the worst ending I have ever experienced in my 20 or so years of gaming. It left me empty depressed and seriously considering calling it quits as far as gaming went.
You were lucky. My parents bought me the Magnavox system :-)

-1 for originality.
Also... how is posting about other games related to ME? Pretty sure this is against forum rules.
