Metal Gear Solid 3, if we are talking about games with the "3" in them otherwise it would be Metal Gear Solid 4. I would also like to add Infamous 2. The ending for that game is pretty much bittersweet, and it is about self sacrifice, but it's powerful, it's touching. It is simply amazing. I also liked Jak 3's ending, Red Dead Redemption etc etc.

all the games that ive played. even stalkers shadow of chernobyls bad endings was better.

was a little iffed about the halo3 ending but wasnt half as involved in the story as in mass effect
ive even read all the halo books

When you forgive a game's for a terrible ending cause it is mediorce it is enabling more games to be like that. This is not a magical change ME3 has done. It botched it's ending just like Fallout 3 did before Broken Steel came out. The only ending of the current gen of games I have played that was better than ME3 was Fallout: New Vegas. Now I am not saying Witcher 2 is worse, since I have not finished it yet so opinion is out on it. 

Still I am not saying ME3 is a great or even good ending, it is just falling in the trends of every other AAA title I have seen, where it is all about the first few hours to get people in then work more on multiplayer, while endings are medicore at best.

Playing VTM: Bloodlines again and it definetly has better endings than ME3, but then again pretty much every single game on my HD does...(Rage is the only one that has worse ending imo, but the entire game was meh).

But if one were to insist on me specifically naming a few, I would nominate:

Dragon Age 1
Portal and Portal 2
Halo 1. 2 and 3
Mass Effect 1
Mass Effect 2
Diablo 3
Halo: Reach

...and dare I say it, even Starcraft 2

...and if I can vote for Starcraft 2's ending ahead of Mass Effect 3's, something has gone SERIOUSLY wrong.

Halo 3 (flawlesse ending....hero still alive, galaxy saved, losses and all) and Halo reach (truly bittersweet ending and the hero dies BUT he goes out with heart not like a sheep)

Thats not true. Theres no way Ghostbusters ending on the nes is better than ME3's.

I don't think every game made had a better ending...Two Worlds 2 was meh....but then again, so was the whole game, heheh

I haven't played any recent games since ME3, other than Journey and Dragon's Dogma....but both had better endings by far.
