57 here and female. Play silver and gold on PC. Its nice to know there are lots of people over 40 playing. I kept my age and gender secret until now because I thought younger people would not want to play with me.

I don't run into this a lot but it is enough to be annoying I get the youger players who are all about running, gunning, swearing, and denigrating the reputation of everyone's mother because they outscored you.  The other type are the obviously under 12 player who is chatting about all kinds of other topics and telling me how to play better.

I just would like to play with people who respect the game and their team mates.

Age is not the only factor but I have found a number of players on other games in my age category and it is much more enjoyable to have a team like that.

Oh, by the way, my age category is over 40.  I suppose over 30 is okay though as I am sure many people started this game(ME1) in High School or College and are now probably near 30.

My XBOX GT is CHIRONATOR.  Leave a post here or send me a Friend Request with a note referencing this thread.

I would add ya but I'm on PC. I too would like to find more mature players
If you get a PC, Orgin ID: Duel-of-Fate

41. Xbox GT is same as my id here. Anyone else looking to knock out the Unwavering achievement (or anyone willing to help me do it), please send me friend request!

I've earned it and helpt people earned it but I would like to help out some more people.

Also, check out our group below. We tend to be more mature players as a group (not all above 30 but good people). And we don't only play Bronze (mostly silver for me).

What he said! Also, there's nothing wrong with feeling a bit 18 while playing sometimes. It'll help us old farts live longer :P

31, started ME1 in college. I agree, some of the younger players yell a little to much.

My common reply to those that ask my age while in game is “I watched Star Wars: A New Hope. In 70mm the day it was released to the theaters, to be clear Han shot first.”

The most common reply’s are:

1) “What’s 70mm?”
2) “What? There are more movies than just the three released in the least few years?”
3) “Your crazy in your old age, Han returned fire!”

I recall Pong being “State Of The Art” and the “Space Invaders” Bug that increased their speed when you freed up the memory by reducing their numbers. It was gaming in its infancy, it was good times.

I acquire 41 in two months, I use the PS3 platform, and my PS3 handle is the same as on this forum.

Ryde…

Atari...pong, tanks....good times.  OMG, you got a 256....those have a ton of RAM.  Floppies were big and actually floppy.  Mobile phone was the one in the kitchen with the 10ft cord.  The TV remote was the "clicker" and jingling your keys changed the channel.

I'm 44. That means I remember being 8 years old and having to fight a crowd of 30 kids at the local Sears store to get a view of the Pong display. I waited 2 hours to get to front of the crowd to have my turn trying it out. We were all mesmerized by the this new "big magic". And my origin id is flashmanvc. By the mid 80's I was a PC gaming fanatic, and my Dad hated that I wasted so much time playing games. So he used to deviously sabotage the PC every day in different ways. I learned to troubleshoot and fix all the problems by myself, because I was too proud to ask for help (because I was a snotty teenager who didn't want to talk to my parents). Now I earn a good living working with computers and can buy any game I want. Remember: Men = boys with more expensive toys.

Sorry for dragging this further off topic, but...I remember our first PC. It ran at 8 mhz, unless you pushed the "turbo" button which kicked it all the way up to 12 mhz.  Awesome.

50 here.

GT is jpv1962

I only play MP once or twice a week to keep up my EMS and during the events.

I usually play only on bronze unless an event requires a higher difficulty.

The gold and silver games I've played, I always did very well in, but just did not enjoy them like I do bronze games.

41. The majority of guys I play with are in their 30's or above. But, even if not, I've still found this community to be a lot more respectful and mature than most MP games.

And by community, I mean on the 360 - Definitely not BSN. We all know what a #$%*storm this place is.....

Different audience.  This game has a significantly different community than other multiplayer games.
Youngest I would have to say is the COD crowd, they are starting to bleed over to Battlefield.
Battlefield majority are in their 20's
This is a smaller community than them both, I think.  A larger percentage of this community is above their thirties, I think.

Have you taken a look at the Battlelog forums?  Hah, you think this place is a ****storm....

I did not realize that so many people my parents age played this game.  I thought it was a generational idea that all my generation's personality flaws can be traced back to "that D*MN computer!"

Check out the group in my signature. We're trying to get together as many adult gamers as we can, as like you I really don't enjoy listening to kids shouting at their Moms over the mic

As a "mature" player, I really enjoy the fact that ME3 MP is co-op. So I don't get 15 yr olds teabagging me because my reflexes aren't as fast as theirs.

Please BW, don't introduce PvP.

Keep in mind the over 40s were in their teen years when the PC era started, so the d*mn computer found fertile soil straight away ...

This post largely explains my gamertag (same as my BSN username). I got so sick of listening to players (of any age, but mostly 9-16-ish) talk about ANYTHING BUT squad tactics, other mission-helpful comms, or simply good-natured banter.

To the various folks replying about the Unwavering achievement: Thank you for the tips and leads (Bronze Group, etc)!

Happy Reaper Hunting to you all!

I'm 33.... and damn, I don't know if my region is weird, or if I've just been exceptionally lucky, but I regularly run into older, mature people, and almost never into noisy, insulting, screeching kids.

Well, I joined your group ^^

It's inspiring.

I'm 44 and my wife and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary this weekend (hard to wrap my mind around).

Looks interesting.  Sadly being in England we only get that stuff from north of the border ;) I wonder if they export...?

Nope, children of the seventies got corrupted by arcade machines, ZX81, C64 etc.
As for being old enough to be other gamer's parents, nothing like trolling kids by sending them to bed
