41 years young here. Been playing games since Pong and Atari days. :) Actually learned how to use a sliderule and do manual drafting in high school too. I play a lot with my 32 year old brother, and we like playing with others who understand the concept of teamwork.

We play mostly Silver and Gold matches. I'm not good enough to solo Silver or Gold, but my brother and I can duo Gold and extract about half the time. I've also noticed that when I'm well rested I can rip it up, but when I'm tired my game goes into the toilet. Any secrets to pick my game up? Ensure anyone? Lol. ;)

XBox gamer tag same as username. Hit me up, I'll play with anybody using any build and any weapon. Please just take that ULM off your non-Geth SMG! ;)

No - we became modders and programmers and designers and whatever else... so now if we don't like a (single player) game we can just tweak it ;)

...and yeah, I've been playing "space" games since Elite on the BBC Model B and Acorn Electron.

Hey, Elite is one of my all (and old) time favs !
I actually still play it sometimes, did you know about the open-source beefed up version, called Oolite ?
Look it up, free download and you can play it on PC. Really cool version with much improved graphics,
but the same old fun game-play mechanics.

54 year old grandpa happily married for 30 years this October.  I've being playing computer games for decades and taught my son assembly and C based game programming in the early 1990's and he's been a game developer in Japan for many years now.  I enjoy Gold solo as well as team play.  I'm glad the game lets you do either.

Age offers the gift of perspective - as well as various aches and pains. I believe the intent of the OP is to meet other MP players who are about fun and team play as well as tolerance and support.

I'll be 57 this Fall. I sometimes have Grandkids jumping on me or playing, loudly, around me during matches. Most everyone has no problem with a teammate getting distracted or interrupted but a very few apparently do and feel that a foul-mouthed tirade is an appropriate response.

Attitude matters a lot in life. Young in winters or young at heart - good people make for good times.

I play on PC. My Origin ID is OhPa (it means Grandpa in German and I think in Poland too)

I really don't post much but threads like this always garner my interest.

We all have preconceived mental images of the people we play with and are sometimes very much off base. Have you ever pictured your favorite radio personality only to find out they are nothing like you pictured in your mind (especially back in the days when media providers such as Google and Facebook did not exist)?

Heh. I dated two radio dj's on accident. They don't make very good dating material. They have this complex of needing to be adored but not acting in any way adorable.

But I digress....

I am always up for playing with fellow mature and like-minded gamers who are playing for fun and know that real life has far too many problems to be bothered by some of the idiosynccrasies that the virtual world offers.

I am on Pacific Coast time (PST) and usually on in the evenings and weekends.

Yeah, I briefly looked at Oolite - but I tend to either go properly retro and crank up Beebem, or play X3 ;)

Would love to play with some chill older people. Played a shedload of silver and now moving to gold. Bored senseless at home waiting for yet another operation to fix my worn out knees.

I'm a team player and always trying to learn new stuff

It obviously your choice who to play with but I've played with some really cool and laid back players who are almost definitely under 30 and some pricks that were probably over 30. Just friend request people if you like playing with them.

I, and my husband have found this to be OOOOOH so true.

Bronze recently became too easy. Can't quite carry a team on Silver by myself, but I believe I'm getting better. Would love to find some people to teach me the ropes in Gold.

1) Han indeed shot first!
2) Yub Nub will always be the real celebratory song in Jedi.
3) Fisrt computer was a Commodore Vic20.

Would love to play with you guys!

Just want to make a friendly reminder that age isn't everything. I've seen plenty of condescending posts around the web from older people calling posters "son", saying that they don't know anything just because they haven't been around for long enough. But there's plenty of people in their early 20's or late teens who are mellow and respectful by nature, not just through age.

Certainly, age does make a difference. Hopefully the immature semi delinquent teens grow with age and become more mature and respectful over time as they learn that their attitude won't get them very far in life. Just wanted to clarify that being older doesn't always make you more respectful. I've met plenty of people of all ages and have seen despicable behaviour throughout all age groups. Sometimes it's worse in the older ones because they never lose their attitude from their younger days and become more entrenched in them.

But I digress! While age isn't everything, I totally get that people can connect and find people of like minds (and age) to play with, and the demographic range here is pretty cool ^_^

Just wanted to point out how very right you are. I just turned 27 two months ago, but have always been highly mature (never really went through a rebellious teenager stage either!). I attribute some of that to my being an only child and no other children in the extended family for the first 15 years of my life, so I grew up and interacted with only adults. Heck, my favorite music is from the 1940's to 1970's. Older co-workers are always shaking their heads when they walk by my cubicle and they hear Johnny Cash or Glen Miller coming from my little iPod desk speaker... the running joke is "You're too young to like that kind of music." I wonder how many more years I need to put on to be considered an adult in the office. LOL

Maturity doesn't necessarily know an age... I think a lot of it comes from within the individual himself/herself. I may be young, but feel like an "old soul"... and I have certainly been around adults old enough to be my parents or grandparents and have shaken my head at some of the things they say to others.

I do have a chuckle at the younger folks here (the 17-year-old that posted a page or two ago, for instance) who seem surprised to see older people playing video games. Video games started back in the... what, 1970's or so? My father was the first of the "gamer generation"... and he raised me around them, so I, too, became a gamer. I don't ever see myself stopping and I never expected he would one day reach a certain age and say, "Nope, too old to game anymore". LOL So, seems odd when younger ones express their surprise... to the young folks: when do you feel you'll reach a "mystery age" where you stop gaming? Image IPB

BTW, Dad still games at 55 right now. And so does my husband at 40. Image IPB

I would add you, OP, but I'm on PS3.

Hmmm - my journey to an enjoyable sic-fi action RPG has been a long one :-)
From the Star Wars arcade game in bars, a Sinclair ZX81 and RPG with paper maps and dice...

I love the 'classic' RPG games, Mass Effect included, but I'm very fussy, so only the best. That history includes Baldur's Gate (or course), KotOR, and over the years other series like Myst, Tomb Raider and the Elder Scrolls.

ME3 Multiplayer has been a revelation - I have never played 'multiplayer' before and it's wonderful. With only occasional voices on mic, age is largely invisible. I hope to be a gamer as long as I can hold a controller and focus on a screen :-)

Two of my daughters play ME3 MP and they are decent players. They think my 'Marauder Shields' tee-shirt is rather 'dad-geek' , but we do enjoy discussing map strategy...

Almost 40, can't let go of PC-gaming (GT Caustic_Agent) as my favourite form of entertainment.
I am surprised so many are playing on consoles. It's not that you people just send your kids early to bed only to have the fun for yourselves, is it?

37, play on PS3

Still transitioning to silver. Hopefully will be ready to intentionally try gold soon.

First console was the ColecoVision.

First computer was a TRS-80 with 4K of RAM (which we later upgraded to the max 48K) and a cassette drive for storage. Apparently I've actually become less patient with age as load times that annoy me now would have seemed incredibly quick back in the day.
