No matter which specialization you gonna end up picking one that you need to make a pact with a spirit/demon putting them in the same position.as Anders and merill having the spirit/demon try to take over you ,with spirit healers and blood mages you got spirits inside you giving you that power if both of have hatred for something it is amplify.

What? Being a spirit healer doesn't mean you are an abomination like Wynne and Anders. And blood magic doesn't have to be learned directly from demons. Hawke could learn it from Merrill or have had acces to books. He is an apostate, after all.

OP: The specializations are skills you learn/adopt, not spirit/demon posession. However, as a Mage picking the blood magic specialization (in theory) would make you more susceptible to demon influence.
