Anders has already died 1 time and came back thanks too justice and I'm 100 % sure even if you kill him he just come back ,and leave kirkwall helping in the war with templar he also could have went to tevinter to ask for there help .and the war it will benefit them greatly ,cause they got all those mages on there side and get to help wipe out some templars, also if the tevinter helps them I see the qunari helping the Templar's . cause they been at it with tevinter for so long and they dislike mages this will make the war really big.

No, he's confirmed dead, if he's back it'll be his corpse that is back possessed by justice.

He never died in Awakening, he faked his death, it's stated when Anders who "died" meets Nathaniel in DA2.

David has already stated if Anders died in your DA2 game, he stays dead.

You can't get more official than word of G.

Indeed. While I've certainly no aversion towards doing such a thing if the story called for it (though a possessed Anders corpse would be pretty silly even for a hand-wave... I think I'd have an aversion to that), a dead Anders will remain dead.

I'm going to depossess the crap out of Anders in Dragon Age III.

(If given the chance, of course).

Your here! (Faints)

Wait...not yet.

Is it possible Justice might still be floating around? Or that we may see him again?

In awakening Anders and Justice were tied at #1 for my favs. #2 was another tie with Nate and Sigrun.

Ok I can faint now....faints. Image IPB

Anders should return as a spirit, possess Sebastian and become a permanent member of Dragon Age III's protagonist's squad who cannot be removed or killed. Also, he does his hauntingly accurate impression of Fenris' moodiest moments all of the time - and twice as loud during combat.

Lol.
Anders from down under....following you on a trail full of zombies.....

MAW - Down Under

I would choose hilarious aussie NPCs from "down under" over the Thedas Zombie Apocalypse any time.

Out of curiosity, when Anders dies what happens to Justice/Vengeance? (if it's not too spoilery to say)

Also, if we had taken Anders with us into the fade in DAII and put the murder knife through Justice/Vengeance, what would have happened to the two (or one?) of them? I've always been curious about that and as his LI wished I'd had the chance to chew that d**n spirit out for ruining my boyfriend's life.

I murder knifed him in the fade, nothing happened.
Anders has plot armor right up untill the point where the final scenes of the game occur, then his fate is in your hands.

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing Justice/Vengeance take control of Anders' corpse, if Anders was killed. It'd be interesting for DAIII IMO. I can't see Justice/Vengeance just sitting idly by while the cause that he took to heart is going on.

I'm glad Anders will remain dead if murder-knifed, but I don't think Justice/Vengeance should just disappear. He was sundered from the Fade and was bound to Anders' body through a willing possession. Anders is different from any Abomination we've ever encountered.

We've met two types of Abominations:

1) Those Abominations where a Demon is in full control of the person's body
2) Those Abominations where control is split between the spirit and the person.

While Anders shares elements of #2, he's not exactly that type of Abomination. Connor and Wynne -- the other two examples -- were merged with a spirit of the Fade that still had a presence in the Fade.

Anders' possession with Justice lacked that, since Justice was sundered from the Fade. So I would expect Justice to be able to take control of the corpse. And as I understand the lore, nothing would end up being broken.

And at first glance to some people, another Abomination we see in DAII appears that way, but said Abomination was in full control of the person's body as well as being sundered from the Fade. So what was killed was the Demon itself, rather then the person.

What we killed was just Anders the person, but not the spirit bound to him.

But really, I liked Justice/Vengeance. It was nice having a denizen of the Fade as a companion in Awakening, and I really wish that we got to see more of Justice/Vengeance in DAII.

Not only to help drive the point home that Anders is losing control -- because it only happens once in a blue moon even when Rivaled, which didn't seem like he really was losing control despite what he says on the matter -- but also because I wanted Hawke to have a few conversations with Justice/Vengeance.

Hawke could've learned some valuable things about Fade spirits, even if Justice/Vengeance is a bit too.... touchy on the subject.

Knowing how things have developed of late, you'll get completely possessed Anders in future installments, regardless of if you spared or killed him.

My (9) Hawke(s) never killed Anders, he was too in love with him to do that! I really hope Anders returns in the 3rd game. I am still rather angry about the "DA2 expansion being made but cancelled" announcement but Anders returning in the 3rd game and being a party member may make up for that. Now if my beloved Alistair is not a party member, there will be hell to pay :P And for maker's sake, please de-fuglify him for the 3rd game! He went from adorable in the first game to "what did they do to your design!?!" in DA2. His design was ruined in the 2nd game as far as I am concerned.

Anders stays dead, but i wouldn't mind seeing Vengeance/Justice using his dead body to turn into a Harvester. His cameo would be at the end of a small chain of sidequests, in DA3. He, of course, would be a very difficult elite boss out to kill a city for supporting the templars.

Frankly, I found DA2 Anders so annoying, I was happy to knife him in the end. And I LOVE Awakening Anders! I think DA2 is going to be like the third Alien movie -- in my head canon, it never happened. :)

Half of my games he's dead and the other half he's alive.

I hope there's a cameo either way.

I wonder what different outcomes we will have in DA3 when importing different saves where in one Anders is dead and in other he is alive

I'd rather not see him either way. A character I despise has managed to follow me through two DA games. I'm not interested in seeing him in a third.

Please don't bring Anders back. He was OK in DAO: A, but horrible in DA2. Killing him was the most satisfying part of DA2, and one of the few moments I enjoyed.

And yet you don't want a second go at it?

Preferably with a lyrium inlaid chainsaw this time?

If you believe Anders, then Justice would have been freed. If not, then Justice was destroyed along with him.

Either way, Justice won't be possessing Anders' corpse. A dead Anders is gone.

Also, if we had taken Anders with us into the fade in DAII and put the murder knife through Justice/Vengeance, what would have happened to the two (or one?) of them? I'll leave that to speculation, though I doubt that would be a good solution. It certainly would not have simply killed Justice and freed Anders, at any rate.

Not if it means I will have to deal with him for hour,. especially if he is the only option for a healer.

Don't frighten me; I was already upset at Sebastian being unkillable in DA2.
