But seeing him evolve would be the only thing that would interest me in seeing him again in game. On his own. Without being melded to someone else. How he comes to terms with the differences between abstract ideals and more mundane, messy realities.

If a fade sprit is even capable of evolving, yes, I agree. Perhaps he's only limited to such "growth" or change as the body he is inhabiting allows.

However, I would like to see the writers come up with something other than possession: consensual, non-consensual, or unconscious (ie Kristoff's corpse); perhaps some fourth alternative where he can exist outside the fade without possessing anyone at all.

As far as Anders staying dead if you killed him in DA2....heck, he didn't even stay dead for me in DA2.

After I killed him, and the whole thing is over, in epilogue Varric says everyone left the Champion. All except Anders, that is.

I was like, no, but wait...what now?

I think that is a bug relating to the romances in general, and not necessarily Anders specifically. It can happen with other LIs if you switch during the game.

If Justice won't let Anders get drunk anymore, or he thinks that Hawke is a distraction, it seems like Justice is slowly trying to influence Anders, but for what purpose? I didn't understand the idea of a Spirit of Justice/vengeance bothering with such trivial things.

That's the dead spirit of Anders stalking Hawke.  He isn't done complaining about templars and the chantry, and there are some grand clerics left to be blown up.

He turned every copy of his manifesto into a horcrux - that's why they're scattered everywhere around Kirkwall. Flemeth taught him how. Image IPB

Oh Maker! They are like Tom Riddle's Diary x 1000, and they are all scattered around Kirkwall!

"Hello, Serah (Name). My name is Anders. How did you come by my manifesto?"

There will never be peace...

Justice believes Anders should focus on freeing Mages and nothing more. Justice cannot understand that doing such “normal” things is what it is to be human.

I for one would find it funny to read a drunk Anders manifesto.

I wonder if Justice would get drunk when Anders does. That could be disastrous...or funny.

If Justice can animate one corpse, I don't see why he can't animate another. The only real argument against it is the "Janders" argument that Justice is no longer really a fade spirit and has merged completely with Anders and, therefore, dies when he dies. Personally, I have a hard time believing that because Anders' act 3 blackouts indicate to me that Justice and Anders still have identities separate enough to have different memories.

I may be wrong, but I thought Justice couldn't leave Anders unless he was dead. Justice could leave a corpse he was occupying, like in Awakening, but not a living being.

As long as there aren't any gullible Dalish out there who know how to perform a rite for the dead...

If Anders is to appear in DA3, please let me have the option to make him Tranquil?

Whether that's true or not, this isn't a question of whether he can leave a living Anders, but whether he can stay in a dead one.

This is not relevant, because Gaider already stated, that there will be no posessed Anders corpse.

And also, he already stated,  that Justice is either freed or destroyed when Anders is dead.
