B.Made a man made cave on purpose and then made it their stockroom? (Wow,  thats really stupid)

It is far from uncommon for people to make man made caves for the implicit use as storage facilities. Wine makers do it around the world to store wine barrels while aging them.

As for it being on the second floor, if you look at the cutscene, the island on which the tower is built on (it's in a lake, not the ocean) sits very high out of the water. Who's to say that the back side of the tower doesn't rest against the side of a hill, in which they dug the cave?

I do think that when you first enter the tower, the cinematic shows the tower and I 'think' that there is a hill behind the tower or somesuch, need to get a screenshot methinks.

Well, were there windows on the first floor? It's possible that both of the first two floors are underground. I don't recall, as I didn't think to check. Hmm...

Yes, there are in fact, windows in the first floor.
Even right under the laboratory room.

How about this. The island has a cliff on it. The tower is built into the side of the cliff. Like building a house on one side of a hill. Having part of the house built into the hill. It's not hard to imagine and isn't even an unknown or unpracticed concept.

Dwarven thaigs, waaaaaaaaaaaay deep underground, have "windows" letting in daylight. So no need to be above ground for windows. Posted Image

I thought that the blue glow in the thaigs was from massive lyrium deposits or something like that.

As for the storage cave, I figured there was just a real long staircase behind that door on the second floor, ending in the storage cave.

I thought the basement was kinda cool and creepy. They could have done more with that, or made some crazy demon boss or some really awesome magical items for use with your magic casting character.

No, there CANNOT be stairs or we CLEARLY would have shown them in the transition! Posted Image

shhh....don't tell them about Occam, they might stop posting and the forums would die.  And if that happened, we would have no way to engage in witty repartee with Bioware lead writers.  And that would be bad.

Occam shmoccam. The Circle Tower is clearly fully-modeled from outside to in, right there in the game. I mean, you can go into the laundry rooms or the senior enchanter's quarters on the fifth floor, right? So the exact route in the storerooms should have been indicated, *especially* when it goes right by the privies. Posted Image

Don't joke - I spent a good 10 hours on my first playthrough trying to find a privy.

Forget the Urn of Sacred Ashes, then. Pilgrims should be visiting that site!

I personally find the broken circle quest part of the tower amusing. You go first, floor, second floor, then I think there's one, maybe two, more 'level' transitions and BAM, you're on the top floor with Uldred. Then Irving complains about having to go down, what was to me, a whole 3 flights of stairs at the end of the fight. I guess all the abominations were on the first 3 levels? Same goes for tower of Ishal.

Maybe that's one of the reasons I felt such a disconnect with the game. Excessive use of "a wizard did it."

Easy solution. There is a ladder, stairs, rope, elevator, or golem who carries you up and down, from a small exit area, to the cave...

Maybe the cave is built by the templars. After all, they built a huge tower just to imprison mages, so why should they not build a cave to store spiders for a side-quest? Keep in mind that they are Lyrium-addicted AND belong to the chantry. That´s 2 things that show they are crazy.

One side is built against a hill or mountain, I would stick up a drawing how it's done, but basically one side is underground the other side is aboveground. The windows on the first floor are also built into the wall really high up, as you are never able to look out of them are ya? (Which was annoying, I really wanted to look out upon the island from some balconey, especially after seeing it in the intro cutscene).
