I notice that Shepherd cannot have move than one of the above powers when he decides to reallocate.  Therefore, there must be a close similarity among them. Can some inform me what the main differences there are among Warp, Reave, and Energy Drain?  I know that Reave is effective against Phantoms; what about the Warp and Reave?  Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

ED drains shields and recharges Sheps. It's also used for tech explosions.

Reave drains shields and give temporary damage resistance. Warp does damage over time. Both are also used for biotic combos.

..at least, as far as I remember.

Energy Drain drains enemies' shields and restores the user's shields and can add a layer of damage reduction(15%) if you spec the power to do so. It also primes tech explosions.

Warp deals damage immediately, weakens armor and primes biotic explosions.

Reave deals damage over time, adds a layer of damage reduction to the user(up to 40%) and primes biotic explosions.

Pretty much everything said about it applies.

Warp - Deals it's damage in burst. Strong anti-armor & anti-"barrier" power. Decent against shields but you'll find tech powers like overload & energy drain stronger against regular shields. Strongest set up power for biotic explosions being the only power that adds 50% more radius onto the explosion on top of the 50% more damage/force. Can also detonate explosions. Weakens armor by either 25 or 50%.

Energy Drain - Applies its effects in burst. Restores shields by either 50% or 100% depending on how it's set up. Potentially adds 15% damage reduction for 10 sec but only if it drains shields, barriers or hits a synthetic. On that same note it only applies its damage, shield restoration & said damage reduction if one of the 3 things listed are hit, not health or armor of an organic. Can easily hit multiple targets if set up for radius. Can set up or detonate tech bursts.

Reave - Strong DoT that can be applied to a single target or multiple if set up for radius. Strong against armor & barriers. Can apply anywhere between a 15/25/40 % damage reduction when applied to an enemy regardless of type of enemy. Can detonate or set up biotic explosions but does not grant any extra damage or force to them. Does stack with itself.

Actually, some clarifications, to add on to all that's been said.

Warp is NOT just instant damage. It's 75% damage upfront, and 25% damage over 3 seconds DOT. That's why you spec Expose and Pierce. The other evos...kinda suck. Warp's main use is detonations since it's so weak otherwise, so always spec for that at rank 4. Check the coalesced files...and most any other Warp thread.

Energy drain and Overload both do 3x damage against shields/Barriers. So does the Reegar Carbine from multiplayer. Energy drain restores in a somewhat counter-intuitive fashion. Here is how it works:

Suppose you have 500 shields and specced for 100% full drain. Suppose your target has only 400 shields. That means it will only return to you 400 shields. Suppose you specced for 50% drain. Then it will drain 250 shields. Weird, I know.

Reave will heal you a bit ONLY IF you target ORGANIC units. In other words, don't use it on geth...unless you're priming BE's....then use it a lot.

Yes, Warp is great for biotic detonations, but I'm not sure about sixth evolution. Recharge speed is good too, because more explosions is power.

Wrong. Throw has 50% explosion damage evolution, Shockwave adds 65% to damage and radius of BE in multiplayer.

I didnt say anything about throw but warp is stronger then throw as a detonator and throw cant be used as a set up power. Additionally you're wrong about shockwave because it adds damage and force, not radius.

Thing is although shockwave can be used as a set up power, "IF" the suspended evolution is taken it only adds 50% damage & force in single player which is what this entire thread is based around. As such all powers that add any bonus to detonations only add a 50% damage & force with exception to warp which adds 50% damage/force/radius thus is the most powerful set up/detonator power.

Nice Catch! I didnt actually realize this until this point and can confirm it is infact true.
