Exactly. You are forced to make a choice without any question. If you make the choice even if you don't believe the choice will do anything, then something is very wrong. That's why I take the ending at face value.

If you are being serious then you are pathetic. You need to grow up. It is just a dumb ending to a video game. Most video games have dumb endings. IT itself isn't half as clever as people seem to think it is and would be a dumb ending itself. Just accept that it was disappointing for a standout game to waste an opportunity to maybe put video games on par with television as an art form and move on.
I mean, that was really all that was at stake here, too. The chance for video games as a story-telling medium to be mentioned in the same breath as television, a medium that is generally scorned and ignored by people with taste (and rightfully so). Can't get enough Mad Men, myself.

If all you are going to do is insult and belittle, then yes look away. So you don't believe the Indoc Theory ok we get it, disagree all you like. But when you start calling people pathetic based on thier interpritation of the games finale..(speculation for everyone seems to have the underlying goal here and I'd say mission accomplished) then you become just as pathetic as you apparently think the people you oppose are.
He was the one who asked if he was pathetic. He may have meant it rhetorically, but he basically said that he wasn't thinking about it properly because the scope of this "crisis" had been exaggerated to a ludicrous degree in his mind. I would have to say that to say that would seem to indicate that he is miserably and contemptibly inadequate, so pathetic.
Are you the white knight of the Bioware forums? This kid (or <shudder> adult...) needs to get over this because there are worse things than a ****ty ending to your favorite game series out there. Hell, make up your own ending, or better yet, your own sci-fi universe, but realize that you don't need some company that sucks and doesn't give a **** either to authenticate some hokey crackpot ending forum posters cobbled together that accomplishes nothing besides negating the existing bad ending, which is already dead, anyways.

Laziness.
Sorry to say, I'm sure you will say my explanations are absurd, but in my opinion it's only there if you want it to be there, multiple explanations are possible and only the future will tell which ones are right (at least I hope so).
Also, it takes more work to make something similer to something.

I'll ask this question again as I've yet to get an answer. Let's assume all the evidence you've gathered is real. That means bioware planned IT from the start. Why would they do this but wait to make the "real" ending? It certainly doesn't help their sales. I like some things about IT, but I just think if bioware had planned it we would have gotten the EC in early April, rather than maybe July or August at this point.
Lol that's a trick question, is it? Going to alter it a bit.
Actually, from me, you don't even need to assume anything, bioware could have simply screwed up the ending from the beginning, but either way, it has left us in an interesting position where IT could work very well(Screw most of the ppl who say otherwise, please go read up more on IT from different sources, not only your resident hipster)
So heres hoping it can be capitalised upon. There are a lot of details that we could go into though

Because the object isn't a true mirror. It's just a a shader. They did the same in Swtor, where a droid in room had a room reflected on his dome, while in the next room another droid would have the exact same room reflection. Also mirrors would be complete resource sinks.dreman9999 wrote...

I presume that there was a design earlier that had trees in it, hence the shader on the floor. Someone decide trees had to go, shader was forgotten. Besides nowhere around Shepard will you find those patricular trees, so unless they are completly imaginary.....well, I honestly can't see how it would support Indoctrination either way.

No it's not the reason we should take it at face value. It's the reason I take it at face value. I am not given a different way to look at it. I can't argue with the catalyst, I can't kill try and kill the catalyst, I can't go back, I see the reapers leave Earth, I see the normandy was taken away from Earth. I don't see Shepard answering to the reapers at the end. I don't see the reapers coming back and kill everyone. We don't even know that Shepard was on Earth in the breath scene. Just that s/he is alive.
Nothing tells me to question the catalyst. So, I don't (at least wether he is lying. I question his logic quite a lot).

Because the dream itself has to say something compelling. IT is created in response to the impression that the ending was a bunch of garbage and IT would negate it. There is no point in even having the dream (just have whatever comes after it) if the dream has no narrative purpose.

I don't know, starting a thread that is titled, "Anyone who thinks such-and-such is delusional and weak minded" reeks of superiority and condescension ... I've been something of a cynic regarind IT, and have asked plenty of questions without my intelligence being question or being insulted. I engage in dialogue instead of throwing out insults and ad hominem attacks ... I've found most of the IT folks to be willing to discuss things rationally, especially in the 3000+ post thread.
