I kinda hope we do away with specialization. That would also take away equipment restrictions. Just have Warrior/Mage/Rogue and let us build our character by picking skills from each specialization.
*NOT* like how Elder Scrolls does it though, more like how Kingdoms of Amalur does it.

I'm fine by 3 specializations. I just want them to perfect what they have. I also want people to recognize my specialization, especially if I'm a Blood Mage. Bioware has hinted this will be in DA3 and I think it would be a great design decision.
My biggest problem with DA2's skill trees is they feel too cut down. One skill has 2 extra skills building off it. I don't think that's a big problem except you lose visual fidelity. DA2 didn't have enough different skill graphics. DA:O seemed like it had way more, especially on a Mage.
So, I'd like to see more visual flavor in the abilities and a little more depth to the skill trees. If I spend 3 points into Mighty Blow, I want each point in that ability to reflect with a visual upgrade.

I like specializations, they make me feel like I'm special.
In all seriousness, more would be great. I do think we should be limited to just one though.

I'm cool with the 3 although building your tree skill like skyrim is more enticing. Maybe three specializations plus 1 you can choose from outside you class. Maybe a companion npc teaching you depending on your friendship/rivalry points (if the bring a system like that back in da3).

well if they decide on it, we may only get 1, however people will react depend upon which one you choose such as the Blood Mage spec

We got 4 in DA:O and then 2 more for each class in Awakening, then we dropped down to 3 in DAII.I'm hoping for totally new specializations for each class in DA3.Well except for the Blood Mage,I want people to know my character is a Blood Mage:ph34r:

If they do have specializations in DA3 I hope they're more interesting than the ones we got in the last two games. I found those really, really boring. I also hope there's at least one spec for each playstyle. In Origins it really sucked that there was no straight up DPS spec for mages that didn't drastically alter your playstyle. An elemental spec or something that added some super powered fire and lightning spells would have been really cool.

I like the different specs but i want a templar spec that would actually affect how people reacted to me

Bring the arcane warrior back. I hate to play as **** mage who wears skirts and has fight at distance

It would be nice to have many specializations to choose from. However, I hope they keep it restricted for only one specialization per character. Being able to specialize in more than one thing, rather goes against the meaning of "specialization."

I think in a PAX interview, Laidlaw said that he's planning on only allowing us use 1 specialization so we can have a story with it, like having a consequence for being a blood mage.

If we can only chose 1 that has a visable impact on the story then I think 4-5 options per class will add weight to our decision and offer more roles. If we can choose multiple spec I think we should only be able to choose by endgame a third of the total possible specs.
