It isn't hard on a console. Some guns (like the krysae) even have a perfectl reload time to match tac cloak that make it impossible to mess up reload cancelling. That's so hard. I'm sure others have it too.

Can only do it when powers are in recharge mode, and even if your timing is boss, point A and B on my previous list remain valid.

You can also use sprint to cancel. Do it all the time after I've eliminated the last enemy in the area and want to move so I can assist the rest of the team.

I don't understand why you would want to remove it... It's totally a measurement of skill and if you don't like it, don't use it. The AI uses it, they double tap rockets all the time... How is that fair? And what about them shooting through covers and the player abusing line of sight?
Generating bullets at the end of the round? Infinite ammo supply and Medi-gel that revives you? Eating a rocket in the face? Got stomped and revive at the beginning of next round? Infinite loop of the same mission parameter?
It's video game logic, embrace it or don't play. You don't argue physics with your teacher, right? Or why 1+1=2 to your maths teacher?

Works great for my Krogan Sentinel and Revenant X.  Finish off the extended clip, reloading, tap a to cancel since Krogan don't have a roll or dodge move.

You should only be able to reload cancel with powers. This would force skillfully crafted builds made around powers cooldowns, weapon weight, and reload times. All other animation canceling should remain for utility.

*Reload Cancelling: Shortening the animation of reloading a weapon while also applying a new ammo clip.

*Animation Cancelling: Shortening or cancelling an animation.

I'm pretty sure you can do it any time regardless of what part of the cooldown cycle is present, as long as you have a Y button power.  In any case, I do not agree with OP on the topic, and don't wan't to see anything done to reload cancelling.

Removing that would make quite many people stop playing MP, I think. Me included, probably.

Interesting.

The devs claimed it was a feature in ME2.

And btw you are opening a can of worms.

You obviously haven't seen me around these forums before.

And while it may be a "game mechanic" it's honestly stupid. Either implement gears of war style reloading, or get rid of it and force full time reloading, and tweak reload times.

Then go play gears and let us play Mass Effect and reload cancel like the creators intended...

Butthurt?

Oh, the irony.

reload canceling is a timing skill. I don't see anything wrong with it personally. its like a little mini game within the game

Considering that every class, with any loadout is capable of canceling - what you say is boolpoop.

Considering infiltrators get an insane advantage of points with their sniper rifles and shooties I think the boolpoop is yours.

Considering the Scoreboard is pointless...lol...the "boolpoop" can go to you. A snipeps JOB is to take out their target QUICKLY...

And btw...i've never even tried to figure out how to reload cancel and i still own my targets face...till i make it *pop*

it don't take skill, but it realy increase the gameplay, i do it on every weapon, (long or very fast load) and some power, animations, sometime i miss, leading to death, removing it will probably make this game boring.

*sigh* No I still don't like it...

I'm getting mental images of a soldier thinking it's too slow to insert the magazine into his gun by hand so he THROWS it into his gun like a ninja with a wrist flick.

EDIT: But then again I prefer project reality over BF2 vanilla. :D

"it don't take skill" ... yet you can "miss, leading to death"?

How are you missing something that doesn't take skill to do?

You don't believe that a real seasoned and skilled soldier would be faster at reloading his weapon in the heat of battle than a rookie?
He doesn't need to do ninja wrist flicks ... just needs to be more effecient and have experience with his weapon.

Removing animation cancelling would be the smartest thing BioWare could ever do. Almost as smart as the endings.

That awkward moment when you realize that somebody who can perfectly reload their gun every time in 3 seconds is about as efficient as they are going to get, and they can't magically cut down that time by cutting off movement IRL. Your argument doesn't work here.

It does work because someone who has hit the limit on how fast he can reload his weapon IRL is obviously a seasoned vet who has trained that skill.
He should be faster than the average user of the same gun.

Because reload cancelling makes you a seasoned vet. You hit one button and cancel the animation. It isn't difficult, it doesn't make you elite, it doesn't make you a pro. It's simply an exploit that Bioware chose to keep which makes some guns way better than they should be,  and it's not even a skillfully integrated game mechanic. It's incredibly easy to pull off, some skills/guns are perfectly timed for it to the point it's impossible to fail, and it's not even fully integrated into the game, like an actual skill reload system like GoW.

And I can't wait for you to call it a hard to master mechanic again, when tac cloak is timed perfectly with the krysae animation to cancel it the instant you can, and that is one of he best guns in this game. I can't wait to test with the claymore and see how easy that is too.

You must have missed the part where the previous guy says he misses it sometimes and thus dies as a result. If it's so easy and everyone can do it and bioware is aware of it and acknowledges it as a game mechanic. WTF is the problem?

Honestly, the only problem I have with reload cancelling making guns like the claymore incredibly uber is that it's so easy to do, is nigh impossible to fail only if you do it too soon which is really hard as there is no late penalty, it's not an actual mechanic, and it negates the whole balancing of stronger guns that have longer reloads. Because really, it isn't hard to do.
