I've never really seen this suggested elsewhere so I thought I might aswell bring it up. Any1 noticed the combat speed for enemy characters in DA2? They were slower than the player character but faster than in DAO. (I am talking about movement speed aswell as attack animations).
If BioWare is looking for some sort of middle ground between DAO and DA2. I think taking a look at the combat speed for the enemy NPC's in DA2 would be a good starting place.
Thanks for reading.

Yeah I noticed that. I think such a speed would be more suitable too.

Some peope might think I have autism or OCD for saying this but I really badly want DA 3 to have parrying and blocking and maybe even dodging back in it...it just looks cool and makes the combat feel better.
I agree with the point of view that combat should be more fluid than DA:O but not as fast and weird as DA 2's.

I believe that the NPCs actually use the attack animations from DA:O. Someone else can clarify though. In regards to combat speed and animations, the problem is that unlike the less detailed and further distanced BG/NWN, Dragon Age is detailed and close enough to require syncing of combat in order to look "realistic".
It needs to be synchronised. Would solve a lot of other issues (unbalance of NPC/Party stats).
Dragon Age ought to take some tips from KotOR. Surely that combat presentation can be improved upon ~10 years after it came out.

Yeah, the NPC's in DA2 (atleast the humanoid ones) uses the combat animations from DAO, but the animations was faster and more fluid than in DAO, and that is what captured me the most about it, it looked great and felt fluid yet balanced.
