So if I cross a human with an elf, my result is going to be... another stinking stupid human. No proper fantasy half-elves? That sucks epic big time. What load of uncreative turdsauce IS that, anyway...

If I cross a human with a dwarf, I WILL get a proper halfling, who can be described as either an unusually short human or an unusually tall dwarf. Cool.

But what happens if I were to cross a dwarf with an elf? A dorfy man of stone with a little lady Elf? A hawt man-elf with a dorfy little lady of the stone?!

Please don't tell me I'll just get another dwarf. Especially if it's a man dorf with a lady elf, the offspring would probably tear apart the lady elf's lady parts. Her uterus would be too miniscule to contain an all-dorf.

He was still to tall, ugly, and had flat ears. Bleh.

Elves in DA2 were ugly.

God I hate Hybrids... where do people get the notion that different species can interbreed from? Virtually no examples of this exist in nature, and those that do are almost always infertile, if not seriously messed up.

To anyone writing Fantasy (and this applies a hundred THOUSAND fold if writing Sci-fi) I implore you; when a human mates with an ape, you do not get a Half-ape. When a human mates with a dolphin, you do not get a half-dolphin. Please, in the name of all that is holy, STOP with the half-elves and half-dwarves and half-whatevers unless you are going to go out of your way to state that Elves, Dwarves or whatever are so closely related to humans that they're not actually species, but 'races' in the way that 'black' or 'asian' are.

If that were guaranteed I'd be spending the next few hours on all dolphin dating sites. Posted Image

You'd get an elf now answer my question.

What came first. The man or the womb?

The answer is "we don't know yet."

The womb came first, because men do not have wombs.

Human + Human = Human
Human + Elf = Human
Dwarf + Dwarf = Dwarf
Dwarf + Elf = Dwarf
Elf + Elf = Elf
Human + Dwarf = Halfling
Darkspawn + Anything = Gross

Human + Dwarf = Half Dwarf.

Drragon Age doesn't have halflings.

Half dwarf sounds stupid though. Shorter, stockier humans who aren't quite as short or stocky as a dwarf.

uh, well, I don't think they can interbreed in a natural way and have offspring. But we are definitely delving into some strange waters with genetic engineering. And this article is from 2005....

But even if your stance is evolution, the answer is still "the man."

Irrelevant to DA, though. Does anyone actually know if there are tales of elves and dwarves and humans and dwarves mixing? I know the original leaders of the Ash Warriors were a human/dwarf couple, but I don't remember anything about them having kids.

They may just be too genetically different to mate. But not too genetically different to love. Posted Image

It is rumored that Sandal might be half-dwarf, but there is no real confirmation. Dwarves can have children with humans or elves, but they seem to have a low fertility rate even with their own kind.

Okay, I have several problems with this.
First off, hypothesizing about Elven women dying horrifically during childbirth because a Dwarf was their baby's daddy and thus is so large it ruptures their uterus is just... no.
Secondly, Dwarf plus Man does not equal Halfling. The heck did you get that idea from?
