The more I play with Infiltrators, the more I hate Tactical Cloak.

Yes, why aren't you using tactical cloak in the way that you're whining about?

If you think sitting in TC whenever possible is a good strategy, enjoy the constantly disappointed teams.

Nobody said anything about sitting in TC.  If enemies see you, you TC, go run behind a wall, they forget about you.  Or you TC, run to a new mob of enemies, these enemies can't see you, and the original mob forgot about you long ago.  You simply cannot do these things while uncloaked.

The infiltrators are not the problem, the problem is the playstyle. Infiltrators in my opinion is the ultimate killing machines. You have to KILL things then I have no problem you dumping all the aggro on me. Many times I see one or two infiltrators just running around circle reviving the non-infiltrators and didn't fire a single shot, dragging the game to the point I literally screamed: leave that guy alone and please starting shooting!

You can do both of those things with a Decoy or series of Decoys. Why do you think the salarian Infiltrator doesn't get Decoy? Because it'd be broken with both, especially with the Power Use upgrade at Rank 6 of Tactical Cloak.

It's not that the infiltrator class is bad.
It's just the people that play them.
They are always off somewhere not helping, just wracking up score.
So, like when everybody is holding the line and it goes south and everybody dies, then there is that "oh hey we had an infiltrator" moment as the camera pans to him.
And then you watch him kill things until the mission objective timer counts to zero or he is swarmed and dies.

You take extra aggro but if you play with a good infiltrator you are getting revived almost any time you go down without having to use medigel.

I'd don't think being carried is worth the lack of fun I experience when I'm the decoy.

Why infiltrators rule PUGS? It's because they are not as dependent on the team as other classes. Biotics are much more effective in groups, tech users also, melee classes need ranged support and so on. Infiltrators do not need anything. They are just as effective alone.

I'm not going to get into the "good vs. bad" Infiltrators, because like anything there are good (more skilled) players and bad (less skilled) players...and there is even a difference in playstyle which can seem good or bad to others.

Playing with 2 or even 3 Infriltrators can be a very good thing if you play the strategy right. What's going to happen if there are 3 Infiltrators on a team with one non-Infiltrator? The enemy is going to migrate after the non-Infy. So why doesn't the non-Infy draw the enemy into a concentration of fire from the Infy's?

If you communicate a plan and/or everyone catches onto what's going to happen, there's no reason that the non-Infy can't go from cover to cover, putting in some good shots here and there while everyone else concentrates their fire. You won't get top score, but can you say you're not being a team member and doing your part? Try it as an AA or AJA with 3 Infy's...it's a great time!

Sure, that's fine for pwoplw who get together to do that.  But, those that do not want to play decoy are having aggro dumped on them against their expectations.

Here's the thing...I never play an infiltrator (I'm terrible at sniping) so if I'm playing with 2 or 3 Infiltrators I know I'm going to get aggro dumped on me.  If I'm not in the mood for that...I leave the lobby if it's a pug...or change classes.

"Infiltrators dump aggro" is THE weakest argument I've ever seen/heard.

Most infiltrators don't stay cloaked long enough to let any "dumped aggro" wander anywhere close to a teammate. And if they do, it's because they're reviving someone or capping an objective, both of which are acceptable.

In a team where you are the only player that isn't an infiltrator, and they all happen to cloak at the same time, it would make more sense. But that's an exception, not the rule.

Wait, I just read that "shooting targets in the back" bit. New weakest argument. It's called flanking, you do that in a shooting game. It's no more "easy mode" than powers that home in on the enemy and can hit them behind cover.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

The difference between Tactical Cloak and cover is that with cover, you will be seen and rushed and shot at from across the map, before you even stick your head out, on Gold.  You can't sight or scope from behind cover without getting shot on Gold.  With TC, you can sight and scope without getting shot quite easily quite on Gold.

So what you're saying is you've never played gold. Because you are pretty obviously just making garbage up.

Your completely, pathetically weak complaint that Infiltrators can "sight and scope quite easily" (I removed your nonsense because clearly you don't know how to form a sentence) is countered by the basic ability to move your reticule while in cover.

Really this whole thread is a loud outcry of "I don't understand this game at all, here's the class I don't like though and here's my dumb reason for thinking I'm too good for it!" You do go out of your way to make yourself look as ignorant as possible, because it's quite hard to imagine anyone could actually be as blatantly oblivious as your stupifying argument would suggest you are.

The notion that you think you're making some kind of asinine point here is mind-boggling. The only thing you're proving is that whatever teams have to suffer your presence are severely handicapped from the start. Get off the forums and learn to play.

No, he's absolutely right.  There's a major difference between taking cover and cloaking.  When you take cover, enemies can still see you, and they'll move in close and try to flank you.  As opposed to TC, where enemies can't see you at all and don't know you're there.  There's such a difference between the two, they're not even really comparable.  Plus, when you decloak and your enemies see you, you simply get out of their line of sight and cloak again, and they're back to not knowing where you are.

You must be joking.

An infiltrator spends most of their time out of cloak, and the only time they should be using it is for objectives, revives, and right before they start shooting. If you honestly think TC is a "magic disappear trick" that enemies immediately forget about you, they can also never see you if you can't see them, so just cover your eyes! Just as applicable.

Let's just look at what this thread is really about; a butthurt fool complaining. Probably feels inadequate after being beaten out for points by infiltrators, or angry because he can't make effective use of the class (which is obvious based on his blistering ignorance concerning how they work). But the long and short of it, this is a stupid, childish, pathetic complaint.

"Boo Hoo, I get shot at too much because the infiltrator can cloak!"

Stop whining and learn some awareness. You are literally asking other people to get shot at MORE because you can't deal with it. Pathetic.

If you aren't using cloak to escape enemy fire, then you aren't using it to its maximum potential.

You're not wasting any potential. You just can't do that and it makes you (and the TC) seem like you've never played an infiltrator. Go play a game, cloak in a mob of enemies, try to run, and tell me how long it takes for you to get a face full of bullets. If you cloak in front of enemies, they can still see you. They will follow you. Geth Rocket Troopers and Primes will bombard you (can happen even if they didn't see you cloak). Tactical Cloak isn't an escape button and it never has been. If you're in a situation like that, cloaking just gives you a false sense of survivability which is quickly replaced with "Wow, I just got killed". Tactical Cloak has to be used out of sight or you're gonna get nailed. The TC thinking you can just cloak and boom, all enemies stop shooting at you is just ridiculous. Face. Full. Of. Bullets. That's what you'll get. Especially on Silver/Gold.

Yes, I find myself having to leave my own lobby because of this.  I don't have to jump through these hoops for another class.  It's like a plague.  It's unfair and irritating and not conducive to team work.  It skews the weapons, powers, and enemies such that if they are just right for other classes they are overly good in the hands of an  infiltrator.

Oh i love it in gold matches when the 3 infiltrators, dump aggro on me :P usually have 2-3 primes, camping just waiting for me to duck out of cover. Do you know how annoying that is, especially when the 3 others, run around in front of me, killing everything and thinking their top ####. Give them another class and they wouldn't make it past round 3 :)

Having used Tactical Cloak quite a lot, I can safely say that it doesn't actually transfer aggro to anyone else in the first place. What it does (if you use it correctly) is drops aggro at the point where you were last seen. After that, they have to reacquire their targets. All of them. They don't automatically go after the next-highest person on their list like an MMO monster, they have to start from scratch. If someone's actively shooting them at the time, or is close to them, they're obviously going to get priority treatment. So it doesn't just drop aggro for you, it drops aggro for everyone for a couple seconds.

The aggro is why I refuse to play in a lobby with more than one Infiltrator (unless the whole team wants to TC it up). I learned that mistake the hard way (three infis and I was the only non-infi). Guess who kept getting stun-locked and dying over and over? Some people know how to play it, others are a**es and don't even revive the teammates that are polite enough (lol) to draw the aggro away from them.

Yes.  Out of sight.  You run behind a wall, cloak, and then find a new group of enemies.  They don't see you, and you get as much time as you want to line up a shot while unharmed, using your teammates as decoys.

If you ever played a non-Infiltrator class, then you would know you can't do this.

The Infiltrator is the only class that actively and negatively affects the game of their allies. Outside of shockwave trolling, or whatever, no other class does this, no matter how bad the player.

Now, this is usually made up for by the Infiltrator's ability to easily revive allies and do those 1234 objectives. Thing is, you only need one for that. If you join a lobby and there's already an Infiltrator there, you should change class. Failure to do so is simply unfair on your non-infiltrator allies. That's on Gold mind. Silver's a little easier to survive, so two Infiltrators are acceptable there.

This has nothing to do with overpoweredness, kill stealing or any of the other complaints about Infiltrators; it's manners, pure and simple. If you don't like it, find another lobby.
