1.) Alistair
2.) Morrigan
3.) Zevran
4.) Isabela

And I'm adding in...

I've only done three xD

1. Fenris (best)
2. Zevran
3. Anders

I felt like I didn't get to know Anders as well as the first two, and so somehow the romance was lest fulfilling, although I love him and Hawke together. Also, if I recall correctly, Fenris' and Zevran's random lines change when you click on them after a romance but Anders' doesn't.

4. Isabela
5. Leliana

I have not done Morrigan yet (pun not intended xD) but I still want to. I have tried Anders halfway through, don't think I'm going to finish that one ever. Also tried Sebastian, but not finished. I have no desire to romance Merrill, and Tallis really doesn't count. ;)

With 1 being the one I enjoyed the most,

1. Anders
2. Alistair
3. Zevran and Isabela (tied)
4. Merrill

I enjoyed all of the above tremendously, so ranking them is challenging. I keep trying to do a Fenris romance, but I just can't get into it. I'm trying again, but I'm not optimistic. I've never tried a Sebastian romance because I can't get through the game without flirting with anyone... and for some reason, I prefer male PCs for DA2, which is odd. I can't even bring myself to flirt with Tallis.

Well, for DA2, none of them really moved me. I romanced Anders. It was okay. I just don't know about him. He doesn't kiss me at the end. If you dump him, he doesn't care. No emotion at all. And one time while standing in the House of Hawke, he says, "Well, it's not pretty, but at least it's clean." All snide like.

Besides which, my Hawke is such a Hoochie. She flirts with everybody. Every time. Lol.

Warden, she flirts a little bit, but Alistair, Alistair, Alistair. All day long.

1 Zevran (because his you can feel going from one night stand to love and how it changed him)
2 Morrigan (for much the same reason and her effect on the plot but her cold nature took some for me)
3 Alistair (funny, charming, sweet and good issues without consuming him, but changes little)
4 Anders (His betrayal at the end made the romance and set it well, but he became a caricature which took from him all in all)
6/5 Isabela tied to Fenris (Her nature was fun, but her nature never wavered it felt she put a mask on and we never saw the real her. Like she meant to play the pirate and had little to her than that)
6/5 Fenris tied to Isabela (More to his backstory and one of my favorites but lacked effect on the story for the opposite of Anders, getting him to accept mages though is great and perhaps he should be higher)
7 Leliana (wonderful girl but lacking zest, even her own story seemed flat, maybe she was too calm.)
8 Merrill (people may have my hide for this but she never really reacted to you until the love scene. You get more with Varric than her and suddenly she is moving in? Needed to be more gradual)
9 Sebastian (a great idea but why in the world are flirt options to get the chaste marriage the most bawdy in the game?? The ending isn't sure, I loved him but done so poorly)

1. Alistair. DAO was the first game I ever played where there was a romance element and he just hit all my buttons (literally.....lol). He was adorable and well written.
2. Fenris
3. Zevran - loved the angle of him not taking it seriously til much later
4. Anders
5. Leliana (til she got creepy with the butterfly eye thing...)
6. Isabela
7. Sebastian. Just wish you could have had a deeper relationship with him.

8&9. Morrigan and Merrill. I've never romanced either so can't judge. I can't imagine playing a Hawke that would ever romance Merrill though....there's far more interesting romancable options in DA2 and I can't get over the 'little girl' aspect of her.

1. Zevran. I was all set for my warden to be with Alistair my first playthrough, that is, until I got waylaid by Zevran's cringe-worthy poem.

2. Morrigan. I love me some medieval demonic women: Modthryth, Morgan, etc.

3. Alistair. Heady, hyperbolic, first love.

4. Sten. Yes, he is not technically a "romanceable" character. However, there seems to be some tension between unarticulated desire and duty going on beneath the surface. And the bond created, while not carnal or "love" proper, is pretty deep.

5. Leliana. "Is your fruit forbidden?"

6. Fenris. The byronic legacy in pixilated form.

7. Oh, Anders, Anders, Anders. Why, oh why, did you want to move in right away? Relax.

8. Merrill. See above. Also, I felt a bit like a creeper (she looked so young).

9. Isabella. I will always treasure our times at The Pearl.

It was hard for me to romance anyone but Alistair but I did it. It was also hard for me to romance anyone but Fenris. Those two are my weak points. I just have to try and ignore them which is hard.

1) Morrigan. Excellent character, well thought out romance arc and honestly the best romance I've ever played in any game. And this is coming from a gay male.. >.>

2) Alistair, probably. He was adorable and everything but possibly lacks a little substance, unlike Morrigan.

3) Anders. It was a tie between him and Alistair, but Anders lost due to being too dramatic. I think the writers went out of their way to create drama between Hawke and Anders, and ultimately it really was far too much and not overly realistic (which I strive for in RPGs, obviously).

4) Isabela. She was my favourite romance in DA2 (again, how odd for a gay guy don'tcha think? xD) but I just wasn't overly attached to her. I think it was because she was similar to Morrigan and as a result nearlly all the time my character spoke to her I just continually thought '**** is trying to steal Morrigans role..'. So yeah.. >.>

5) Fenris. I don't know what is it about Elves but I just, so far, have not liked their romances in DA.. at all. He was okay, and it was enjoyable, but the gaps in the romance broke the immersion for me.. alot. I mean, from Act 2 to Act 3 is a three year hiatus, yet Hawke apparantly didn't move on at all? If that was me, and the guy I just slept with walked out saying 'I can't do this. It's too complicated and I don't want you', I certainly would not wait around 3 years for him.. >.>

6) Zevran. I know there was indeed substance there, but I just couldn't get passed the creepy perv lines, which is ironic because they're usually my sort of humour (in mild amounts).

7) Leliana. She scared the crap out of me. She was far too OTT and stalkerish. I've never finished a character that romanced her..

8) Merill. I don't want to offend anyone, but I just can't get over the fact that she both looks and acts like a minor. She's far too innocent, far too 'cutesy' and far too childish for me to ever imagine romancing her. It's rare for me to refuse to romance a character, but yeah, none of my Hawkes will ever see her as anything more than a little sister. >.>

1. Fenris (this was nearly a tie with Zevran, and probably next week, I will say Zevran. For now, it's Fen.)
2. Zevran (see above...*wink*)
3. Alistair (was first romance in DA for me, and I still love it, but the two elves still win.)
4. Isabella (I love snarky, sleazy rogue Hawkes - spending coin at the Blooming Rose...WITH Isabella.)
5. Anders (I enjoy his romance, until Act 3.....then it feels like I need to sit Hawke down and watch a few After School Specials. Good for story connection an RPing)
6. Morrigan (actually quite like her romance, but my male Wardens always end up in a tryst with her and Zev, and unfortunately for Morrigan, the elf wins.)

I can't seem to bring myself to romance Merrill yet. Whether I rival or friend her, she always seems like a little sister to my Hawkes. Leliana has never been my cup of tea. Nothing really wrong with her, but not terribly fond of her voice, and some of her dialogue just kinda makes me sleepy. Sebastian could be fun for RP reasons, but the lack of any real depth in the relationship just makes it seem kind of pointless.

I think my main issue with Sebastian is that I find it very difficult to kill Anders at the end of the game. And there's something about Sebastian marrying you....then leaving you because you refuse to murder someone that doesn't sit well with me. Unless I was playing a hardcore Templar playthrough I don't see me ever romancing him....

Yes.  That is part of the problem.  The depth of two people falling in love should definately change such an outcome.  When I have watched the romance scenes on YouTube, there doesn't seem to be much emotional connection.  You can marry him, but it feels more like a 'chess' move, than an actual union of two people in love.

I have played Hawkes that have gone pro-mage/support mages, neutral/support mages, neutral/support templars.  (have yet to do a pure "GoTeam Templar"! play through....don't know if I can yet.)  So as you can imagine, my Hawkes have had Anders alive, told him to GTFO, and murder-knifed him.  Hell, I had one really 'sad' Hawke (on purpose) who lost Bethany in the Deep Roads, Isabella took off at the end of Act.2, chose to support the Templars during the Last Straw and instead of killing Anders with the murder-knife, she sent him away (so of course, he comes back later to fight you), which meant that Sebastian left as well.  Oops.....poor lonely sad Hawke.Posted ImagePosted Image  Thank goodness she had Fenris or she might have done something truly rash!Posted Image

For male LIs
1. Fenris
2. Alistair
3. Zevran
4. Anders

Female LIs
Can't comment other than Morrigan because that was the only one I played with a male Warden.

My favorites:

1. Alistair. At first sight I thought, OMG this guy looks so goofy and that's the romance option? Then he opened his mouth and Mr Valentine's voice came out speaking D. Gaider's words and I just melted. Funny, sexy and fun is a lethal combo for me. Easily my favorite of them all. I loved this character and though I tried to romance the others, he always ended up with my Lady wardens and was always my Cousland's bro-mance (if I played a male).

2. Isabela. Her romance is actually touching if you get her to open up and she displays a great deal of depth and (again, humour and fun). Even if I didn't end up with her at the end of some of my games, she's just so much fun to flirt with my Hawkes couldn't resist having at least one night with the pirate queen. (My favorite game was a sassy LadyHawke Rogue who swept her off her feet and became totally wrapped around Issa's little finger).

3. Fenris. A lot of passion there, but like others above have said, the gaps were jarring. Still some of the most romantic lines in DA2 come out of his mouth. Plus he's got the most gorgeous eyes!

4. Merrill. She appealed to the protective soul in me, I just wanted to wrap her up and not let her get hurt (of course, it doesn't work that way but *shrug* doesn't change the fact I wanted to). She let me be 'the chivalrous hero' (and I usually rival-romanced her as a grumpy male Hawke).

5. Leliana. Sweet, and the romance for my Male Cousland by default because I just can't bear the heartache of the Morrigan romance (I'm just a big squishy romantic who wants happy endings). A bit bland, but some lovely moments when she sings for you or at the gates she offers her parting words. I still prefer her to all the remaining options. (See Below)

6. Sebastian, fun to flirt with (and a safe flirt as it won't screw up any other romance), but Chantry boy is so bland I found him uninteresting.

Zevran (my second favorite companion) I adored as a friend, but I never could get myself to finish any character who romanced him (and I did try several times). Morrigan's is too heart wrenching knowing what's coming (and, again, I did try--several times). Anders, I despise. No way no how never ever ever will I romance him, just squicks me out thinking about it.

*Edit* an addendum to the list above, let me add Bann Teagan as my favorite "non-romance" because flirting with him in the chantry in Redcliffe was one of my favorite scenes in DAO!Posted Image

I couldn't agree more, which is why she is my first and favorite.  I love how in Mark of the Assassin, if you use the Flirt options with Tallis, Isabela gets all defensive over Hawke and kinda snarls at Tallis.  So awesome!

So, my list is:

1. Isabela
2. Leliana
3. Morrigan

I cannot really rate any others as with every playthrough (male or female PC), I end up with one of those three.

I linked my Kaidan ME romance more than all of the DA romances I tried; I think this is because the characters are more realistic and human than the DA cast. That said, out of the ones I tried, I would say...

1. Alistair - character is pure fan service, and finding a virgin prince who isn't hideous isn't really believable though.
2. Leliana - She is kind of insane but I guess the flirtation wasn't too far off.
3. Morrigan - her "i'm cold" tent scene was laugh inducing, but I liked that she was challenging.
4. Zevran - this really just makes me think of Pretty Woman.
5. Fenris - sure let's not talk about sleeping together for over 3 years...
6. Anders - feels very needy, and then of course also insane.

I haven't experienced Sebastian, Merrill, or Isabela.
