This is surprising how?

EA would turn tetris into a first-person shooter if they could.

Who currently owns the IP for tetris?

Yeah, i was dissapointed to readnand see the DS3 stuff from E3. I really enjoyed the franchise but have grave misgivings now.

I mean, really...dropin/drop out co-op and MP where the necromorphs shoot back? And what happened to that "all alone" feeling? you would expect in a survival horror action game? Do we need a companion now? (John Carver)

EA does it again...sorry to say.

Dead Space was never really horror per se... Sure it was INTENSE and sometimes shocking etc but never really inspired fear as survival horror games do like Silent Hill 2 and Amnesia. So to me, this direction is kinda logical for the company seeing as DS was always more action than horror if that makes sense.

Dead Space has always been considered survival horror.

And this has changed in Dead Space 3?

I'm starting to find it really annoying how games are labeled "Gears of War" simply because you can jump and take cover. <_<

It's not Gears of War. It's Deadgearsoflostunchartedspaceplanet.

C'mon Dudebrah! We're gonna 'splode things!

I'd be interested to see how long it'll take to play through part three as well. DS1 took me about 9 hours, DS2 between 6 and 8 hours. With a very heavy focus on co-op what's the chance this one will be less than six hours?

Said it before I'll say it again. Loose the assault rifles, bring back the more creative armoury of DS
1+2. Get friendly fire in. If the player is thick enough to shoot their
co-op partner having a consequence of that might teach them to aim
better.

Please, whoever is playing the demos in the videos, quit
rolling for no reason. Perhaps if you used a mouse you'd hit something
as well...

That and:

"Fans" will buy a product anyway. They're asking to be bent over a barrel.
"Customers" you need to meet their expectations and demands.
Behave like a customer, they'll start getting the message.

You keep on buying crap, they'll keep on making it. It really is that simple.

Werent Assault Rifles already a weapon in the previous games? Also where did it say they scrapped most of the weapons from the previous game in favor of only allowing the player to use assault rifles? Also call me ignorant but I also missed the part where they said Co-op will be manditory?

There was an assault rifle in both DS1 & 2. I would simply have liked to have seen something beyond the generic assault rifle dudebro play style that's so far been shown in videos. Particularly given the variety of weapons and telekinisis attacks that are available that raised it above being yet another bland third person shooter.

From what has been shown so far they seem to have doubled up weapons together rather than have individual weapons with varying functions, as though choice would be too much for peoples brains to take. I would like to be proven wrong on this and to find that they do have a diverse set of equipment that is more makeshift weapons as in DS1 & 2. Along with the melee and telekinisis attacks.

Co-op's been heavily featured but they have stated that it will not be required. Quite entertaining how they look like they want to spit when they say "singleplayer" though.

My understanding is that the single-player is roughly the same as the previous games. The soldier dude only pops in for co-op when, you know, you want to play a game with a friend.

yes but they are called pulse rifles

apprently op forgot about that since he or she is to busy nerd raging about ea

also im sick and tired on how everything is labeled a cod or gow clone and again people fail to forget everything is a clone nowadays if they think like that

You apparently didn't pay attention to the demo. There's more than just the co-op or boos in abundant ammo in DS2 that made this game an action game rather than a horror game. The game's out in the open. There's sun and snow, enemies are now people with guns. The enemies take cover shoot from cover. They work in teams to take you down, etc. The gameplay style has shifted a lot further than DS2 did from DS1.

There was something in deadspace to ruin? No offense, but this game never really seemed to be "scary" to me, more gore porn with jump scares than anything else.

Ah well, probably just not my cup of tea.

I think this notion was already established before its release.

It was just like dead space 2 really. It was pretty good, not sure if I will ever go back for a second play through though.

Good. I like Gears of War.

Maybe I'll pick it up when I see it in the bargain bin.
